Thanks Pete... I was in a hurry running out of the LFS after last night's reef club meeting when the little guy caught my eye.Originally posted by psteeleb
sweet find on that clam - a very nice impulse buy
Thanks. I'm familiar with that mod, and that's sort of the route I was going before I noticed my valve was bad. The only difference was that I wasn't going to hard plumb it directly to the output... but the valve was going to be located on the output line.Originally posted by BigJay
Tswifty, check out this thread on modding the Korallin:

Halfway down the page there's a pic of the reactor with the gate valve and JG fitting physically attached to the pump output, along with a post on how to do it and which parts to buy. I'm going that way, since there will be fewer places for air and detritus to get trapped in the effluent line.
I just ordered the parts, along with another set of air check valves. I just had another brass one go bad.
I helped a guy set up his Aquarium Systems (I think) Ca Reactor before I left for Texas, and Pete has the same one on running his tank. I really like how they are laid out, and how the valve is hard plumbed directly to the reactor to control the output. I've now considered myself "in the market" for a new reactor, and will probably look in that direction.
Although I will say that the flow rate out of the reactor has not fluctuated since I changed everything around and added the pinch valve yesterday.
