Sorry if these questions have already been asked but . . .

1. Can a Tunze 6100 be converted to a 6101 (similarly for a 6200). If conversion is possible, what would be the expected cost?

2. When will these 6101/6201 be available?

Thanks ever so much (I have 2 6100 and 1 6200)

Thanks ShadowViper. I cannot decide with the information available if the 6101 is better. I do know that I don't want to power aquarium related pumps with batteries that have to be recharged. Or at least I don't think I do.

There are no batteries. Instead of a big bulky copper coil like the 6100 uses we use the little in line electronic power supply that laptop computers use. The driver is also gone as it is now built in to the pump. Pros, simpler, lighter, power supply almost universally available at any electronics store. Cons, a big copper coil will likely last longer, after warranty the pump with driver will be more expensive than replaceing only a driver or pump seperately. People wanted a simpler set up, the new one uses a few watts less, runs very slightly cooler and because it is DC a battery could be fitted, but it is not included.

So will you have the option of going with the 6100 or the 6101??? Or will the 6100 be discontinued???

The 6100 and 6000 will be discontinued but not for many months yet and there will be parts supplied for the old units still.
