Here are a couple of shots of my 9010 in action.
Sorry they are in my gallery, but I dont know how to post pictures in posts yet.
I cleaned out the reaction chamber/cup the night before the pictures. My 9010 is running on my 38 gallon Oceanic with a 5.5 gallon sump. In a bigger tank it may produce even more skimmate! I am getting approx 100ml -200ml a day, so far. These skimmers are very consistant, as they usually just keep on skimming even after you have just cleaned out the cup.
I would say to just get the 9010. The 9005 is about the same $$$ AFTER you add in the "sump" kit (about $40.). BUT the 9010 is a much more powerful skimmer. I have had both 9005 and now a 9010 so I know the difference. The 9005 is "ok" but the 9010 kicks butt! Most would say it even out produces the 9015. It does like to skim wet though, which is ok in my book.
Best skimmer I have owned.......and I have owned some big $$$ skimmers .........cough ......deltec mce 600,.........cough,cough..... among others!
A great, trouble free skimmer that is VERY quiet, small and doesnt need to be fiddled with constantly to achieve the desired results. Reasonably priced compared to some other skimmers that are comparable in skimmate production. Did I mention that it was QUIET !
9010 all the way !
