okay so my tang has ich and i been treating it in the QT for about 10days. lately it has been twitching a lot and breathing heavy. within the past day id say the breathing has slowed a bit but the twitching is still going on or so says my sister because she was watching the tank before while i was out. any help in understanding and treating this problem will be greatly appreciated. oh and i forgot to say he is a juvie if that makes any diff in what it can be thank you=)

cupramine because i was using kick-ich but even tho i saw an improvement in the ich spots thr twitching worsened so i moved him to the QT and used cupramine

If you have been treating with Cupramine and the copper level has been at the correct level for 10 days then it is possible you have flukes. You can dose with Prazipro (I use Prazipro and Cupramine together all the time) or do a FW dip in a clear container to see if you see flukes, as they drop off in FW dips.

Flukes are nasty little ameba/jelly like creatures that live on the body of the fish. Thing is that you can't see them except when they are on the fish eyes and then it just makes the eyes cloudy. They aren't affected by copper and most wholesalers and LFS don't treat for them. FW dips cause the adults to fall of, but doesn't kill the eggs. Prazipro is an excellent medication to get rid of flukes.
