Ugh, sometimes I'm crazy...

Not today, but everyone has settled in. The chrysurus ate pellets today. The blueline picked at a few as well.

No worries! The blueline is a bit smaller than expected, so I set up a big PVC "graveyard" for him to hide amongst, so the other fish are a little nervous from that. Plus I have't cleaned the glass lately :o

I don't know how you does it.
My 40 gallon can Qt 1 fish or 2 fish max
I try 5 in there but they fight.

This is definitely the most aggressive bunch I've tried so far. I have a backup plan if any aggression arises, but things are good so far. I saw the blueline pecking on the rocks this morning :)

wow, u got my list of fav fish

semilavartus... check
asfur... check
navarchus... check
regal... check
personifier... check
moorish idol... check

the only thing your missing from my list is a LNB and a emperor.

you definitely got me interested in a FOWLR.

quick question, since this is a FOWLR, would you still need to do water changes if the nitrate, nitrite, phosphate, ammonia is zero? i can see why u said i don't need a cbb. the amount of food you put in that tank must equal to that of an adult human.

I do throw a ton of food into this tank. I do 80g water changes every 4-6 weeks.

The only reason I said that about your copperband is because that fish is NOTORIOUS for starving in captivity, and is therefore the last fish I would ever buy in a low feed tank. Plenty of other fish are fine in such a system.... I've done it before.

Great looking bunch of fish Peter! I really like the size of the blueline.

Thanks! Kevin at LA was nice enough to mention to me that they just got in some gorgeous small bluelines, and offered one up to me since I was going to be doing a full blown QT anyways. She's a spunky little thing!

Great pick up on the blue line.
The yellow belly @ Sdc have lympocystis :( i dont want more lympocystis on my tank. I lost one of my yellow belly because my asfur and blue angel killed it. Now I can't put the 2 1.5" juvenile regal because i have a small but terrible rock beauty that chase everyone including a much larger regal and blue face. So I have to remove the butterfly also:(

Also One of my requirement before entering the main tank even during hyposalinity is that they eats pellets. Because that's all I will feed them

Actually, that yellow belly I've had for many many months. I bought it before it was eating, because it was such a great price. It lived in my remaining reef for a long time. Then I finally tore the reef down, and moved it into QT (with the PBT and a couple other fish), where it slowly started eating HBH spirulina pellets. It still doesn't eat with gusto, but now that it decided to eat smaller, easier to swallow ON Formula 2 pellets, I think it will gain its weight back. The PBT and other fish have since been moved to the FOWLR.

Gorgeous blue line angel you have their, Peter! The other new fish are also very nice pick ups.

So how is it that you guys are able to get these more finicky fish to eat pellets when I can't get some of my "easy" fish to take to them? Could you share how you do this, I've thrown almost every brand of pellet food at my dottybacks and they won't have anything to do with it?
