underwater camera

I want a good underwater camera for scuba and dont want to spend $3K for a housing, etc for my canon XSi.
Any thooughts?
Sea and Sea DX 1200
SeaLife DC1000

I would likely get it with at least one strobe. Any experience with either of these cameras?

I just bought the Sealife DC1000 elite, tried it out for the first time the other day and LOVE IT! I have photos posted on the Florida marine aquarium society club forum, check em out. It was $900 for the entire set.

I appreciate that. I am still in between that set and the Sea and Sea set for about $1100.
