Unofficial VORTECH is READY thread

On the Apex setup screen, right above the WWD update, there is a WMX update. I would run that and then start the WWD update. You must have all the Vortech pumps turned off and then turn them on one at a time to do the WWD update. It takes several minutes to update the firmware in each pump and then the screen shows the number of pumps updated.

I dont this is possible, but is anyone able to have returns or skimmers shutoff based on the status of the vortech?

Like lets say you make a profile for the vortechs called Feed, and at a certain time of the day the vortechs switch to this Feed mode... are you able to shut the pumps down based on just that?

When I hit the 'WXM RF Update' it says Fiirmware OK.
Still getting Update Error: 0 when running WWD Update. I still have my pumps on at this point because I was following the directions step-by-step. It does not mention turning off the pumps until after you have done this step.

I just turned the 3 off, then tried the WWD Update.

Same Update Error: 0

It was a error on my part. I had not updated the last set of webpage updates. Updating pumps as we speak!

Curt emailed me back at midnight and got me going!

I see that everyone is ordering the WXM but where is everyone ordering it from. All the places I've looked don't have it yet.
Direct from Neptune.

the way it looks to me, they are all seperate or all based off the first one (which is the master). i have the first pump set to reefcrest the yellow light is on, the 2nd pump i can set to sync or antisync and it will be white/yellow and i have the 3rd pump as lagoon and it is purple. so they can all be individual pumps, or the first pump be the master and the others can be slaves via sync/antisync

edit:
i do wish i could change which pump is the master though... i added them in the order of access, and now that i know how it works, i would like a different pump to be the master. the "drop down" box is greyed out on the profile setup page and i cant select a different pump as the master

not sure how many pumps you have but it doesnt matter which is the master really.

I have 3 vortechs, one on the left and one the right while the third is on the back. i can set the left to Pulse and the right to AntiSync to make waves while having the back set to anything I want. I was just wondering why the first pump was the master

this is a list of my programming for each of the three pumps:

VortechMP10
Fallback ReefCrst
Set ON
If Time 05:00 to 13:00 Then ReefCrst
If Time 13:00 to 15:00 Then AntiSync
If Time 15:00 to 17:00 Then EcoBack
If Time 17:00 to 19:00 Then AntiSync
If Time 19:00 to 23:00 Then ReefCrst
If Time 23:00 to 05:00 Then EcoBack
If Time 15:58 to 16:07 Then PulseFD
If Time 17:58 to 18:07 Then PulseFD
If Time 19:58 to 20:07 Then PulseFD
If FeedA 000 Then OFF
If FeedB 000 Then Slow

VortechLeft

If Time 19:00 to 23:00 Then ReefCrst
If Time 23:00 to 05:00 Then RCMornin
If Time 15:58 to 16:07 Then Feed
If Time 17:58 to 18:07 Then Feed
If Time 19:58 to 20:07 Then Feed
If FeedA 000 Then OFF

VortechRight
Fallback ReefCrst

i think my programming overlaps or something but so far its okay

i understand why you would say this, but i disagree. i have 3 pumps, 2 on the left side and one on the right. right now the right is the master (and cant be changed). so if i set it to lagoon, and the left pumps to antisync, sinec in lagoon mode most of the time it is at ~70% or higher, that means my 2 left pumps will mostly be at ~30% or lower. i would like the option to have one of the left pumps be the master, so i can set those to be at ~70% or higher all the time, and the right one being the ~30% or lower.

so what you want to do is individually control the gph of a pump but still use a certain mode? i thought about that too and thats why i created some different profiles for mine. Im not sure if thats all the profiles were limited to but I have 4 profiles left that I can program

like you want to use reefcrest for both left and right, but for left lets say it can handle more flow than the right side, so the right side you need it lower, right?

right... i think we are on the same page. i think it would be nice to have more profiles. especially if i had controllable tunze's, id be really screwed right now!

I really like the WXM module so far, and am happy with the functionality of it, but would like to see some more added in the future. Definately happy with my purchase though!

The WXM does what it says it does. It's hard for me to get too excited about it, as this is functionality that really should have been available years ago.

Where are you guys finding the WXM Manual at? I didn't get anything in the box with mine, and I can't seem to find the document on the neptune website.
