Urgent how toxic is a green carpet anemone?

I just got stung by my green carpet. My hand feels stiff and burns. It feels like it is moveing up my arm. Should I be concerned?

My hand is stiff and burns and my forarm is now haveing the same symptoms. If it were a alergic reacton it must not be to severe as those come on fairly quick right? It has been a half hour now and hasen't got to bad hasen't gone away eather. It just freaked me out when I felt it start to spread.

I know that some folks here exp w/ carpets use gloves to prevent this, and my Sebae(crispa) would give me red dots/itchies, but if you have any real concern maybe see a doctor to be safe, we are just giving general opinions/advice here.
I don't THINK it's an issue, but might be a good idea to be safe and have it looked at if it has you concerned.

Not real concerened just wanted to see what the nem folks had to say about it as I am more of a sps freak. It hasen't gotten any worse so I assume it will pass. I am to poor to spend money on a docter visit unless absolutly nesasary.

Mix a cup of water with a couple of spoons of vinegar, soak a paper towel and wrap around the affected area for 5-10 min, rinse with water. If your symptoms get worse, see a doctor.

Takie a benedryl (( spelling )) or 2. (( along with the vinegar, which helps a lot too )).

A while back one of my S. Haddonis (( that is what I am assuming that you are talking about )), stung the heck out of my hand. It had caught a fish, while I was watching, and I tried to save the fish. The fish died and my hand swelled up. The vinegar and benedryl pills helped a lot.

I was toughing it out and my wife came home ( she's a nurse ) I told her and she freaked made me soak it in vinager for about 20min. It is much better now just a little stiff and slightly swollen. But I have no doubt it is fadeing now.

good to hear all is well. has anyone heard that you shouldnt touch a nem/carpet nem too often (not that you want to) because it can mess with your liver?
