Vermetid Worm Outbreak (Tube Worms) - How do I get rid of them? Why do they only see

I had an outbreak a year or so ago and their numbers slowly decreased not sure why haven't seen but only a few here and there. Maybe my monster zebra hermits had something to do with it. They seem to activate when things get all stirred up so keep the water clean.

The bumble bee snail thing is not really verified. Who knows.

I am curious about the puffer idea. It would be interesting to setup a tank with a valentini puffer and only have a piece of live rock in there with vermetid snails, don't feed and see if he goes after them.

I have a Yellow corriss wrasse and a yellow tailed tamarin, none are interested in the vermetid.

A less reef safe wrasse might be better like maybe a dragon wrasse or something else very aggressive.

RESURRECTION!!!!Plague proportions! If any of these posters are still around at there can you give me and update?? esp OP

Do NOT use bumblebee snails to get rid of these... Bumblebee snails are predatory snails that will kill all of your good snails and also strip your sand-bed of micro-organisms.

+1
I had alot of them broke them off with my thumb but after adding a
Melanurus Wrasse I dont notice them anymore he picks at the rock all day and ive seen him tear them from the rock.

Truth be told, I have yet to see any biological remedy guaranteed to destroy Vermetid snails; not a fish, not a crab, not anything. If there are only a few vermetids and the tank is small, I have read instances where the hobbyist has gotten rid of them through a combination of manual removal and nutrient control. But once they reach 'plague' proportions, you'll have to let them crash. And they will. Unfortunately, this will take time, hastened only perhaps by the implementation of the same manual removal/nutrient control previously mentioned. Sorry I don't have better news.
