VERTEX Skimmers

Sorry, I got you two confused.

That IN-100 would be more than plenty on that size tank. You most certainly would not need more!

I hadn't thought about this before reading the last couple of posts, but is the IN-100 going to be sufficient for a 72 with a 30 sump, or will that be pushing it? (fish, lr, mixed corals) I'm not sure if I can fit anything larger, but if it's going to be questionable I'll figure it out...

Thanks!

I think you would be fine in a mixed reef. If it was going to be a heavily loaded sps wtih a heavy fish load you might need to go bigger, but for what you are doing it will hold the tank with no problems at all.

Jeremy, I have a65gallon but I have another 10 gallons in a 20 gallon sump, another 10-15 gallons in a fuge, and soon to be another 10or so in a auxillary sump. Soabout a hundred gallons all together. I have a heavily stocked tank in corals, lps sps, mushrooms and zoanthids. I primarily aim to add more sps. I am at a point between a vertex180 or 250(Ilike the added height of the 250) or an octo extreme 200 or maybe(big maybe) a 250. What would you do?

I forgot to say that I have a high turn over rate from the main tank.Using big skimmers to get as much skimmed water as I can out of the turnover.

I think the 180 Vertex or the Extreme 160 would be just fine for you. You could do either the 250 Vertex or 200 Extreme, but I think it's going to be more than what you currently need. If you are going to keep adding volume though, you might go ahead and just go bigger now so you don't have to buy again later.

Jeremy, are the dimensions on the Gen 2 specifications pages acurate for the new skimmers? As I've posted before, I have 13 1/2" by 10 1/2" to work with....

Thanks,
Jason

mesh mod

Jeremy, I've never seen a resun pump. In your opinion is there room in volute to do mesh mods? I've looked at the impellers on your site and they already have a set of holes in the pinwheel. Looks like you might only need to drill one more set to secure the mesh. I'm leaning towards the vertex 250 over the octopus 200. Ilike the added height. Thanks for any input.

Hi, you will be at 13 1/4" x 10 7/8", however you could probably twist it and turn it a little bit to make it fit. If you want to get one and see if it will work out it's no problem to return the skimmer if it doesn't fit.

You would have no problems at all adding mesh to this pump. This plenty of room to do so.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Since you guys have the new models in stock, any chance of getting a replacement impeller for the bad impeller on my IN-100? It's been close to 2 months since I've gotten my skimmer. What is Vertex doing with the crazed cup issues for people that have them?

I have all of the replacement impellers finally shipping today! I apologize it has taken so long to get the replacements!

pump on IN250

pump on IN250

What is the flow rate of the pump on the IN250? A figure of the non pinwheeled pump would be OK. Thanks cecil

Hi,

The pump on this unit does 1630gph with a standard impeller. Unfortunately I do not have flow rates with the pinwheel, I apologize.

I will hopefully have realistic air draw numbers on all the pumps by the end of this week.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Jeremy, I'm not trying to be a pest but did you get the air draw numbers on the vertex 250? Also is the air intake for the venturi !/4 inch?

Yes, air draw on the 250 is at 1040lph, and 1/4" venturi line on it.

We'll have all of the updated air draw numbers, power draw, and footprints updated on the site hopefully today.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Jeremy, please pm me when you get a a chance your inbox is full. HAving a little issue I think you could help me with. Thanks Mojo~
