Vic's 100gal Starphire From Philippines

Wow, that's a true build if you're starting with just panes of glass. Sa Pinas ako pi na anak, dito na pi na laki. Oowi kami sa Dec 2010. First time back since I was 4. I can't spell and I sound even worse when I speak. Good luck on the build and I look forward to your progress.

as for your parting tagalog, yep ayos lang ako (im doing great) :)

looks like your off to an amazing start.
thanks man :)

could be in cebu, but i highly doubt there is one in palawan. everything there is regulated. well at least in puerto princessa and tubattaha
i heard this is a couple of coral farms in cebu and palawan.
good luck with the built!

cheer man! :)

Looks like it is going to be a great build. I am kind of surprised though that you went with all schedule 80 fittings and then opted for schedule 40 bulkheads. That is the one place I do use schedule 80 now as they are so much stronger than the standard bulkheads.

scoots, its good that you noticed. im honestly not comfortable with my sch40 bulkheads :( i havent drilled anything yet so im still considering getting those sch80 bulkheads.

EDIT: i remember why i went for the sch40 bulkheads. its because of the threads. US threads dont work with local threads :(

Yo Vic,

Nice beginning so far.. please keep us updated! I will be subscribing to your thread :) This thing better be as nice as Boracay!!!

I remember Cartimar, that's were used to buy pigeons when i was young hehe..

Cartimar brings back old memories. I remember going there in the 80's, looking for rare BMX parts. btw, Don't let your pigeons come close to my house, or I will "dakma" them and make adobo

I was in Cebu in 2008.. there is a fringing coral reef just a few steps from the house we were in. Just amazing how they have corals growing all over the place like weeds-- and we pay big $$$ for tiny frags of them here in the U.S. :eek2:

thanks buddy. i dont frequent cartimar that much. most of whats there are nearing death already anyways lol

i did a rendering of my tank today. sort of a preview of whats coming :)

halfcanopy.jpg

the second render shows some sort of a canopy where i could maybe hide 2-3 T5s for more coloration. thinking of using 1 ATI blue + and 1 KZ fiji purple with icecap reflectors.

hope you enjoyed! :)

actually got the idea from andrew's for the sliding door and color of the panels. but i think id be opting for a darker blue against metallic silver

Wow, Vic!!! I like the render of the future tank. That single sliding door looks great.

What are the tank dimensions & thickness of glass going to be?

To answer your question earlier... my tank will be delivered very very soon! :spin1:
