Vic's 100gal Starphire From Philippines

Was that hard to get a permit from the goverment in pinas? I know one of our fellow kababayan in austria europe he's got a business for making aquarium or building tank & doing shipping live corals & fish, cuz one of LPS store he asked me if i know this guy. I said i don't even know him, & he is the one who's doing exporting marine stuff in europe and they say those corals & fish more likely from batangas & mt.apo reef. i haven't meet him yet but the owner of the store he is pinoy.

Yah that's what I thought too. What I'm trying to say is this guy from austria he is pinoy, his got a business exporting marine in austria. but im not sure if he still doing this business the guy was from batangas so must been taking all those corals & fish from that area. so your from la union my mother in law she's from la union to. I was doing research on your place known your area's for surfing but never heard about a lot's of coral in that area, & really interresting though.

Thanks. I appreciate the answers and understand that you arevery busy.
I mistakenly thought you were running a Herbie (two pipes) not a Beananimal system(three pipes). Based on your post # 78 I could only see 2 drain pipes.

I have been debating between the two systems as an extra hole and an extra bulkhead would be necessary, plus the extra plumbing. But I have heard that a beananimal system is much easier to be quiet.

Great to hear that the system was quiet. I will likely go the same way then.

scoots, its good that you noticed. im honestly not comfortable with my sch40 bulkheads :( i havent drilled anything yet so im still considering getting those sch80 bulkheads.

EDIT: i remember why i went for the sch40 bulkheads. its because of the threads. US threads dont work with local threads :(

I was referring to this post when I asked about the threads and bulkheads. You said that US threads do not work with local threads so you went with Sch40 Bulkheads. I do not understand that reason for this, if you did not use any threads and all slip fittings.

Very nice Vic....Im also glad to hear that you care enough to put corals back. I imagine for some people in your shoes it could become routine to take corals from the ocean with little concern and kill them....only to go back and get more. Sometimes when things are FREE people tend to care less about them but we have to realize that these are endangered living creatures.
