Virtual tank tour anyone?

Danny, that Acro looks like Humilis to me. It looks a lot like the colony I got from Caesars that was harvested by QM out of Indonesia. For a while I thought it was Postrata, and I'm still not sure what mine is. Same coloration though. Yours looks a lot more like Humilis than mine does.

Grant, I just moved, the tank is ugllllyyyyy right now. After moving it into the garage I've had crazy temp fluctuation issues, something got screwed up on my moonlight timer and it caused a crazy algae bloom, and I've got wayyyy too much coral in there right now.

After I get the corals into the frag system and get everything cleaned up I'll get some pics of the little 14 gal.

Here are some pictures of my algae farm. It is getting better I can actually see most of the rock work now.

I picked this guy up at diablo several months ago with the gift card I won in the raffle at my first meet

My Hollywood stunner it has almost doubled in size since I got it at the club frag swap ImageUploadedByTapatalk1340388884.955722.jpg

You got a tang or something in there to clean up the algea? The corals are doing good though.

You can actually drill holes through that Idaho and use it as a frag rack ... lol j/k

Looks good, nice to see things coming along. Troncas and turbos will plow the algae down. Like Tom said a Tang would also tear it up. Nice to see the growth Bud.

I have a yellow eye kole tang but he doesn't seem to do much. With the recent fish suicides I have some room for another fish but I think another tang in a 75 would be asking for trouble. I'll have to look into some more snails.

Nick

Actually hermits will do a better job on those hair algea than snails. Adding another tang in a 75 will be fine. I have 4 tangs in my 210 and thinking about adding another one :D

I think Grant means Trochus sp. snails.

Also, keep iin mind Tom and Grant are refugees from the Tang Police. I had smaller Kole and Chocolate tangs in my 100g and they literally started eating my acros. Bit the flesh right off the skeleton. And it wasn't because there was no algae to eat.

Ken, I think, in hindsight, the tangs in your tank were looking for some attention or wanted you to feed them. God knows they had plenty of algae to hack thru. ;)

I have 2 tangs in my 65 gallon, but still had a hair algae outbreak a while back and bought a reefcleaner pack and the hair algae was all but gone within 48 hours. Now I am stuck with tons of small cerith snails that I am slowly taking out.

guess I'll go next.

Lookin good Luis, Looks like the cyano is just about gone man. Well done! Keep up the water changes and it will start to settle down. Tanks filling up nicely too. Love the nem and clown. Grant

Yeah it is just need to change the filters on my RO/DI so for now i am going to buy water at Oliver's market they have also an RO/DI system. The cyano comes and goes sometimes there is little sometimes there is a lot. I also really love the nem and clown i think when i set up the 20L i got from Oly i will transfer the yellow tang and the damsel to it and try to get another clown.
