Vortech Controller is out.

Johnathan have you seen on melevs reef the pics of his acrylic computer fan housings? why not have something rigged up that would attach a fan to the outside of the tank and blow on the vortech? it would be nice and clean looking and could be held on with some suction cups.

Yeah I have seen them...no way on the suction cups. don't allow them inside or outside my system for anything I have to rely on. The reason why I want the heat sink is to mate a fan right to the pump itself, and power it off the pump power supply if that will work.

Seriously, I am working on a mod to keep mine cool. The fan has worked really well so hopefully other users will learn from that and gauge whether they need additional cooling.

Are you having heat issues with the VorTech?

I can't stand it myself.

My tank room varies between 70F and 84F and apparently the Vortech wasn't designed to operate under those conditions. As far as I know, I am the only one who has had heat problems.

easy boys...I already have 5. Current plan is a re-aquascaping and lowering of the pumps below the sight line. With seven I would be pushing about 22000 gph plus 4K from the return.
