Watch your heaters!!!

And I think Neptune should pay me for all the great feedback and "pushing" to get their product. If I was to do it all over again, the ACII would be one of the first things I purchase next to the "glass box".

One thing about the AC II is they run on X-10 technology. this can sometimes be a problem becuase the controller could tell something to turn on and it doesnt hear it or tell it to turn off and it doesn't hear it. So I avoided the X-10 altogether. I bought the base unit and two of the direct connect 8's. This way the X-10 is out of the picture. A little secret about the dirrect connect 8 is that the #8 outlet has a built in dimmer that neptune doesn't advertise. This can be useful for moon cycles.

Yea, I did a little reprogram where the factory I guess says it will relay the signal every 5 minutes. I did mine at 1 minute and no problems at all.

I'm trying to wait on the Neptune, because as a network communications guy, I REALLY like the idea of an Ethernet port that I can use to monitor etc. But @ $800, I'll be one of the item bought with the tank upgrade, when we buy the house.

I saw the Aqua Jr, but @ nearly $300, It's a fair chunk that I could be puting towards the III Pro.

Am I looking at this wrong? I'm trying to weigh the cost benifit differences between a stop-gap, and a lower-end solution than I was planning on.

I don't have much to control, with no SPS, LPS, LTA etc, I only have lights (70watts of standard flor) already on a timer, a fluval 404, Powerhead 802 and 302 that are all always on.

I am in a similar boat. While the Neptune Aqua controllers offer a lot of features, I already have better solutions for most of those features. All I need is a temp monitor that can trigger my heater.

How many watts for a Finnex on a 55G?

Different companies rate theirs differently.

I'm ready to order the Finnex 500W with controller, assuming everyone is ok with that.

Thanks!!!

I am in the same dilemma as my Won Bros Pro ll went out last night after less than a year.

I was thinking of the finnex but trying to find a separate controller that wont break the bank.

Anyone heard of Aqua-medic Bioterm Temp Controller?
