Weird stick growing ID if possible?

I have 3-4 of these weird stocks growing, one on my snail the others on frags. This one in pic was on Zoas. Very hard and doesn't break off.

I used to have hundreds. Then I temporarily housed a purple tang. Rascal ate every one of them. I rather enjoyed them while they lasted. They didn't seem to bother euphyllia coral.

This is the first ID thread I've seen in years with excellent pictures! And there you go, an ID! Good job, Krchfam!

Thanks everyone. NEVER would have guess snail! I thought I had some cool coral growing. I will remove and I guess that's why my Zoas have been closed.

Always learning . . .

Can you slice them off at the base with a razor blade?

You can try, but the tube is calcium based and very hard. I've tried to get them off the bottom of my tank, (BB with HDPE) and they don't move. You might be better off using fragging clippers of some sort.

I was to scrap off with a razor. Maybe because they were all on plugs and that surface is not as tough. But will
Get some cutters for the future as I'm sure I will see them again.

Thanks again everyone.

You still got that Tang? I would need to borrow it for a while to clean up my systems...

Apply some super glue gel to the top of the tube.
That's in most cases a futile effort. I tried it and the vermetid just created a new opening to the side of the old tube and started to make a new tube.
Breaking up their entire shell is one way to kill them but can be quite tedious. And you usually miss all the babies which then start the whole mess again...
