Welcome to Tunze USA

You could that with what is included. One of thge mount plates has a notch in the top, that notch is used exactly as you describe. You would just drill your tank and very securely using a nut and screw- nylon or stainless steel, attach the holder to your tank. PM me and I'll send you some pieces and ideas so you only need a small hole againt the wall.

Roger,
I received the piece and the catalog this weekend, thank you very much. Now as for the piece do I drill a small hole to accommodate the screw and use the piece you sent as is or does it work w/ other pieces that came w/ the pump?
Thanks,
Sam

It is used to screw the rail to the acrylic. The nut and screw will grab the rail by the little horseshoe notch and you will attach this piece to the rail with the flat plate. I think you only need the mounting piece for the pump.

Roger,
Up until now I hadn't really taken a close look at the back of the powerhead. I think I'm in trouble. I have a 100gl tank, I ordered the 6000 stream and single controller. The box has a label that says 6000 on it, my orde says 6000 on it. The actual pump reads on the back: 6100.10, 200 l/min, 45 watts. I don't think I have a 6000 do I? Now, my plan was to get approx 1500-1600 gl/hr w/ the 6000. Is the 6100 to much flow for my 100 gl tank? Would it hurt to use it consistenly dialed down to the min 30% flow-approx 1200-1600 gl/hr?
Thanks,
Sam

It is a 6000, they use the same motor-- part number 6100.10. The only difference is the transformer which is 11V for the 6000 and 19V for the 6100.

Roger,
This is Sam again, in regards to the piece you sent me and mounting it to an acryllic tank w/ sealed top and access hatches. Do I drill a hole in the top that lets the screw in the small horse shoe notch come up through and just put a nut on it or does the screw go thru another piece on top of the acrylic? I'm going to set the pump up in the bath tub this weekend and try to get an idea of how hard the pump pushhes backward when it's putting out 100% Maybe I can come up w/ a hanger that doesn't need to be supported at the lower part?

Thanks,
Sam

You will screw the notched piece to the flat threaded plate sandwiching the rail in between. Then use the screw and nut going through a hole in the acrylic- just big enough for the screw and the notch to hold the hole thing in place. You will want the

rvitko,
I have the tunze turcelle and love it...really moves the water in the 125 gal. Wished the store would have told me about them first...instead they sold me two little crappy ones that are on the shelf now. I am in the process of setting up an Oceanic 220 gal. fish/reef what other Tunze products would you recommend?? I'm still in the planning stage...so if you have something great...I'd like to know.
Thanks

Tell me more about inhabitants and set up- with sump or without? What size sump? Do you want me to just suggest flow or the whole set.

Roger,
Have the 6000 stream setup in my 100 gl tank. I'm trying to make the current bounce off the far tank wall (48") and come back against the lower setting #2 on the controller. Right now the tank is bare and I'm basically testing. Does the output of the stream spread too much to expect a decent bounce off the far end? Should I be running #2 setting as low as it will go?

Thanks,
Sam

Roger,
I would like to set up a reef tank...I like fish and corals...angel fish are my favorite...and know they don't work well together. I am planning on a large refuge so that I can over stock the tank and not worry. I want good water flow and circulation. I travel with my job...and am gone for a week at a time...so I would like to make sure the set-up is as "error proof" as possible...I may have to have some redundant pumps, etc. just incase one would fail when I'm gone, I would not come back to a crashed tank...I am still planning this and have not locked into any specific design yet...that is why I wanted to see what "goodies" you have for this.
Thanks again
Pam

Pam,

Just wanted you to know I wasn't ignoring you. I'll get back to you tomorrow.

Sam, the 6000 won't give much bounce on a 4ft tank. The settings are completely your preference. #2 is what it switches to in night mode. The greater the difference between #1 and #2 the more turbulence is created when the pumps pulse.

OK, I would use a TS24 for flow. Maybe consider a wavebox as well. If you are not in a hurry (i.e. can wait until October) the new multicontroller 7095 is worth the wait in my opinion. I think the ideal filter may be to build a large sump perhaps modify a Model 3 Oceanic sump to use a Miracle Mud system with a good lighting set up- the T5 retros from sunlight supply come to mind as a good safe choice. I would use two of our new econo return pump as they are very energy efficient and this will cut down on heat. I would use one of our new skimmers probably 9015 when they become available, if you can't wait the Euroreef is a good choice. I would also install an Osmolator which will control the water level and if you are interested in more safety you could install the Water Level Alarm and the Fault Current Alarm. The Water Level Alarm shuits off the return pump if the sump runs dry or the tank overflows and the Fault Current Alarm detects stray voltage and sounds an alarm.

Roger,
Can I turn my 6000 into a 6100 just by getting a different transformer? If so, where could I buy one?

Thanks,
Sam

Thanks...I can wait...I still have things I want to check out before I really get going on this big tank...so I have printed your suggestions and will let you know...thanks.
