Flood stage is at 12' but it's expected to get to 24' or more so major flooding by morning this sucks. Could be worse than 06. I live high enough to where my house will not flood but many friends places will right here in town and many co-workers across the boarder in Binghamton NY. Been pouring now for about a couple of hours.

Well more bad news… there talking 26' now which will breach the levies in Binghamton.

Thanks Chris appreciate the thought. Officially flooded in as all roads in and out are closed. Still have electric thank god. Not sure for how long tho.

How is your house holding up, are you in the clear? If you do loose water and need to empty the house sump you could use a water powered gravel cleaner.

Pascal thanks for your thoughts they are greatly appreciated man. Our house is fine and we are high enough it will not flood phew. Keeping my fingers crossed lights have flickered but still on so far. Good info to thanks.

Yep... it'll be a day or so yet depending on rain until the bigger rivers crest, but the smaller tributaries are already starting to recede. No power at my house and lots of closed bridges/roads, but no real danger thankfully.

Good luck Dave! The river(s) rose faster than expected. That's awful. Are you prepared for power outage? Or is someone home to 'stir' the tank, if needed? I hope all your friends and family get through ok, including the ones in the 40. :)

None of our Binghamton deliveries got made today. From Sydney to Johnson City. Roads closed. Heavy flooding.

Thank goodness Rochester missed this one.

Yea work was closed yesterday and today of course and they said Monday is up in the air at this point.

Hey Dave. I've been keeping tabs on it all and had been at a friends house when Irene hit and helped clean their 3 foot deep flooded basement. Looks like the sun is supposed to shine for quite sometime now to dry things out.

Yea Mike a very favorable forecast for this week thanks for the post and thinking of us down here. Did your friend make out ok this time around? Hopefully the water starts receding quicker which it hasn't so far and people can start the long process of cleaning up. I helped several people in 2006 and as you know after helping your friend that you really don't know the true devastation to peoples lives, homes and personal property in a flood until you have helped clean up after one. This appears to be much worse than the flood of 2006 at this point. I know it was here in the Great Bend Hallstead area. The whole downtown in Binghamton was under water.
