I have 1 Coral beauty, 2 false perculas, blenny. So what red fish would you suggest? I know I cant get maroons, flame angel, and I tried firefish, the clowns killed it. Hawks I will pass, eventhough they are cool. I also will pass on flame cardinals. I was suggested by a fellow reefer to get a Lubbock's Flasher Wrasse or a yellow fin. But the yellowfin seems pricey on LA, 70.... So how much is the lubocks flasher wrasse and yellow fin around here? Oh suggest a red fish Thanks

Lubbock's fairy wrasses are about as cheap and common as fairy wrasses go. Same with the yellowfin (C. flavidorsalis). You should be able to find one for cheaper than that locally. These two species would be your best bet as they both stay small (3") for the genus. They are both easy to care for fish but they will need to be fed at least twice a day. One very important consideration is that you should have a cover or canopy on your tank. These wrasses WILL jump. It's a matter of when, not if.

I have a C. flavidorsalis in my 33 cube at work and it is fairly peaceful. It's in with a Helfrich's firefish, a tiny Trimma tevegae, and 2 Janss' pipefish. Every once in a while it will display at the firefish and spook it but that's about the extent of the aggression.

Problem is many fish are knocked off your list due to your tank size. Rather than buying a small fish that looks like it'll fit, stick with some corals that are red if you must have red in the tank, or a scarlet hermit crab, or some other red invert like a shrimp.. .blood red "fire" shrimp are pricy but it's the prettiest red you'll probably never see :D

If it were me, I wouldn't add a single other fish to that tank.

Save your money and get the fish you want. Settling for a cheap fish because it is cheap usually results is unhappiness.

Hehe, no kidding. So tempting in the store but you might as well cut out the middle man and just stick a $20 bill under a rock where you can't see it.

id grab a red firefish....there cool lookin and about 10 dollars a piece..lucky ocean has both the red and purple firefish in stock..theyd do well with your current fish too..

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I tried a longnose hawk it starved to death.... poor guy. So I think I will pass on them. Flame hawk I have never seen one in fs yet.

I was wondering if anyone could post pics of their lubbocks fairy wrasse and red fin fairy wrasse? I did a search but wow every pic is different.... I would gladly appreciate the help on these pics, so I can get a general idea. Thanks

The psuedochromis can sometimes become very aggressive. I had one kill a jester goby, and a firefish.

The Lubbocks fairy wrasse is usually a mix of colors, yellow, blue red, looks like he just got back from a paint ball tourney.
Flasher wrasses are usually red to orange with darker colored stripes down thier side, if agitated, or trying to mate those striped will actually catch the light like a relection and it looks like lighting bolts going down thier side, really cool.
Most wrasses are jumpers.

I will only mention this one because it wasn't mentioned yet, but a Red coris wrasse is also very nice looking, but as most wrasses, it can hide a lot.

Fire/blood shrimp does hide a lot but will almost always come out for food.

Red coris wrasses get HUGE!
And ugly when bigger. Though, like most wrasses, they're probably delicious.
I think flasher wrasses are awesome and second that suggestion.
As noted, they do jump and until settled in, can be touchy.
I'd do a google on Hiroyuki Tanaka and drool over the flasher pictures he's taken.
I would have them if I could.
