What Going On in Your System Today?

i'm getting a few zoas to add to my collection today! As for in my tank, dracula is m.i.a. so i think he's gone. Just got my light fixed so my zoas are starting to open up and be pretty again!
 
I am the head machinest at a plastics company so I am working on making a little hang over the side frag rack for my little 5.5 tank. I need to frag my Joker, L.A. Laker and a couple other no name colonies. I will keep a couple frags for myself and I plan of offering up a couple others as freebies to the local reefers in my area.
 
Charles if I had the choice I would keep the LPS over the SPS.Sticks are nice but they are like small children and demand 100% of your attention.Today I forgot to turn off my RODI sytem and had to bust out the shopvac.Glad there is at least a small drain in the pantry.

I started experimenting with SPS under PC lighting about a week ago... so far, so good. I'll be updating the pic in my thread later today.

I'm thinking about changing to a reverse light cycle for the summer to keep the heat down. Energy bills, got to keep 'em low....
 
I dont know...tank is still in complete darkness....

From what I saw w/ the flash light- the dino's are just about gone- and I had them bad!

Wiped the dust out of it again.

But seriously I took a big step.

While eating pizza and listening to Motorhead at work I drew my new system out. I had the ideas floating around forever and decided to put them down. It looks like my 3 yo took notes for me but they make sense to me.

Anyways, Today a buddys tank seams started leaking on his JBJ 28 nano!:thumbdown

I'm a willing "babysitter" until he gets a new tank. To JBJ's defense they said show a recipt and they'll replace his tank.:thumbsup:

So I now have 5 different extra multi heads of Acans, SPS, ricordia, AOG's, and get to keep 15-20 misc clean-up-crew and a ricordia.

Hope my levels dont spike....:worried:
 
This morning in my tank.... found my dosing pump was stuck on, dosing alk all night. 14dkh... Will do a 25% wc after work to try and bring it back down.
 
Glued all Zoas / Pallys on my frag racks to rock and got rid of the racks - YAY my tank is back to normal.

Took out my Mag 5 return and replaced it with a Blue Line connected to a SCWD and Lockline. Then I removed all powerheads! Much Cleaner :)

Chasin' frags an' stickin' 'em to LR.

friends tank leak + super surplus of Acans on sand bed + loose frags = dead corals.....(sigh)
 
tanks recovering from a crash when the floods came in tennessee, i lost almost everything and zoas were not opening up and started covering in cyano, cyano just about gone remaining corals are recovering and almost all zoas are open in both tanks, lost my PPE's ,and green bay packers , thank the reef god for leting my candy apple reds to survive and look even better than the have in the past they grew 2 new heads in the last month,
 
today, im going to be preparing for one of the most dreaded things any aquarist could handle. a 2 week vacation away from the tank. my dad will be stopping by almost every day and he knows alot about it so i have trust in him. i already went on a 9 day vacation and i only lost one of my derasa clams..sad but not as bad as i was expecting.
wish me luck......
 
I'm in the same situation right now... a 9 day stretch away from my tank... parents seem to be handling it ok so far at least
