Workin on some frags of pulsing xena for my LFS to trade for a Zebra Snail (I'm hard up for money, and they're good people). I gave them 4 frags over the weekend but they nuked them -.-
Least they gave me my plugs back- Time to try again.
Yesterday... pulled lunar eclipse and jokers off plugs and attached to LR. Saw new babies on PH, grandis, and unattainable palys. Fragged Lakers, Fruit Loops, (non-zoa--- rics and chalice). Rearranged scape.
Went to take pictures last night and turned to look at the tank and their was sand on my acans. Looked over and the mp20 has slid down the glass to the bottom and was blowing right into the sand. Unplugged the pump, pulled out about 5 frags that got buried and tried to flatten the sand back out. Luckily the sand is only about 3 weeks old so nothing nasty got released. No new pictures until tonight.
Fun thread to read through.
I just finished acclimating a tiny ORA green spotted mandarin and some snails. The mandarin first landed on some mushrooms, scooted off only to land on a plate coral. It flew off the plate coral and settled on the gravel by the glass. After an hour or so of sitting in very dim moonlights it moved between a frag and some rock. These were the very first corals the fish ever saw.
Gonna be switching out my MH for t-5 lighting this weekend. Moved all the SPS out...so I'll be housing Zoas, Palys, Yumas, and some Rhodactus mushrooms. Not to mention my G.Smithii(Ming), who really doesn't appreciate the brighter Mh.
sold 4 zoa frags 35 bucks included 3 freebies that i wanted to get rid of (2 zoa frags and blue clove polyps). Which paid for my recent purchase at my LFS. Slowly getting ready to move the tank to college by getting all the frags on the rocks with aquamend and superglue
Just finished my once per month cleaning of my reef. I take a powerhead and spray the entire reef down with excessive current to clean off the reef of rock clogging debris, uneaten food, poop, detritus etc. Then I allow my return pump to carry it down into the refugium where my poly filter will sift it clean. I do this just before changing said filters each month.
^^ That's always a good technique! I like to call it 'hurricane season' lol
Last night, I swapped out some mushroom frags from my 75 to my dad's 24. Also I think today I will go restock my reef cleaners, as well as see what else the LFS has.
Well noting new in the main tank Zoes are looking good, need to do a water change. However I just got a 10gal tank with an eclipse from a friend (free) that I am thinking about making a zoe only tank. I will have to upgrade the light of course but other than that I think It will be easy setup.
