What have you done with your tank lately?

I got a great deal on a Kessil 360w, controller, and gooseneck from Gateway aquatics. After a year of trying MH I'm going back to LED. It's really just a matter of my tanks daily heat swing. Plus now I can enjoy the cubes open top without antic T5's and a MH hood blocking the view.
It was my first trip to that store, his stuff was in great shape. I would have picked up some corals and fish but the flood made my hour and a half drive a relaxing 6 hours.

In honor of nearly 8 years of mostly lurking (and because I am too lazy to create a build thread) I thought I would share what has been up with the tank lately.

This was my 75 about 5 years ago right after moving into a new house and losing a lot of corals in the transition. The tank continued in this state until a little over a year ago when one of the bottom seams sprung a leak and the entire system had to be taken down in a hurry.

During the breakdown, I finally won my 10 year battle with this Eunice worm when I caught him in some LR. It had been responsible for the demise of numerous corals and fish and I had tried to catch it multiple times including two tank moves. Needless to say, all rock was nuked before being reused.

Lots of delays and changes in the rebuild (including completely framing out the basement so I could put in a sump room) slowed the process. I lost the majority of my livestock over the last year including some fish I have had for 10 years. Finally, over my Christmas break I finally got things up and running and have my two remaining fish in their new home.

Damn! Looking good!

Added a sheet of filter floss to the baffle on my sump to get that fine floating particulate out of the water. 3 hours in and it is already evident.

Changed out my ASM G4 skimmer for a newly purchased (used) GeosReef Beckett skimmer. Working on dialing that thing in. In an hour I've already dumped 2 gallon buckets of water it has skimmed. Looks like I am up for a challenge.

Ordered a Vectra L1 pump to swap out my PW 250ps and my reeflo. Cant wait till it gets here.

Yesterday: I broke down my last livestock holding tank since all surviving inhabitants are in the DT and doing well. I put the LR from that tank in a 20L in the sump room for future use.

Today: 10% water change. Wiped down and siphoned debris out of the sump. Set up the next 10 gallon tank for tomorrow night's TTM (for a melanarus wrasse I have in QT). Got some more water mixing up, ran some tests in the DT and got the carbon reactor back online.

I went out of town to see family and left my wife in charge of my tank... How many of you can say you've done that... WILLINGLY?

Over the last couple of weeks I've added the media reactor with GFO, and started running Chemi-Pure in the sump.

Last week I added a CO2 scubber to the skimmer air intake and the ph has gone up about .2 average! I'm afraid I'm going to burn through the soda lime pretty fast with these cold temperatures, though :/

Added a couple frags and a few new fish, everything is looking awesome!

Ahh, why didnt you say so :D

here is an image from the guy who sold it. After I redo my plumbing in the next week or so after my Vectra L1 comes in I will move this to its forever home.

You're going to love it:)

So far, so good. Still trying to get it set up, but it is pulling nastiness right now.
Only thing Im working on is sometime the bubble column will collapse back on itself and take a bit to reform.

Funny thing Nook, I was just looking at this to see how yours was set up to see if I have it plumbed wrong.
