What is the oldest fish you have in your tank?

The "growth" thread made me think about this. I have a hepatus tang that has been in my tank for about as long as I have been in the hobby. I purchased 3 tiny hepatus tangs from Inland Aquatics in about 1999 or 2000. It's first home was a 125 gallon tank, and moved after that to a 180 gallon tank, and finally to its current home in a 550 gallon tank. It is at least 10 years old, perhaps 11.

It has survived the move from the 125 to the 180 to the 550, as well as me moving 4 times in that period. It will never leave my tank unless it goes back to Inland Aquatics to live in one of their multi-thousand gallon tanks.

Oh, the other two hepatus tangs were donated back to Inland Aquatics after they outgrew my 180. I quickly learned that 3 hepatus tangs in a 180 was not a good plan.

We had a snowflake moray eel given back to the store I work at in 96. The customer got him in the 80's. He died this year. That put him around 20 or so.
I personally had a FW angel for 9 years.

a black anemone fish. He is the minister of defense of the tank. everything gets bitten at least once by him lol includingme when I put my hands in the tank.

have had him for about 6 years now. the LFS said he had him there since he opened up about 4 years back ... 10 years !!!!!! (I kinda doubt it though.. can a clownfish live for this long ? )

I have an ocellaris clownfish that is at least 8.

oh wow, thanks guys :)

me and my GF were thinking about this over the weekend and I thought he has already lived a good part of their life :) now I see his just a little boy :D

I had my freshwater Stingray for about 20 years, but those guys grow HUGE and I had him in an indoor pond :)

So this clown I have is only about 4 years old, but it was attacked by my purple lobster! It lost an eye, had its fins cut real bad, and was laying in the sand for about a week! This was two years ago!!! He's my little champ that'll live forever!

So you have it for one year for every finger it has bitten off? :)

That's right! It's getting hard to hold the frozen brine shrimp cubes in the tank when I feed it. I swear I could pull it out of the tank with the grip it has on my fingers.

I had a Maroon Clownfish for almost 4 years until I had to sell her because my 180 gallon cracked and I had to downgrade to a nano. Here are a few old pictures of her when I still had her.

I have a sailfin tang long story short

it was dropped off at the lfs in a bucket n the middle of the night at about 5", the lfs nursed it back to health and kept it for about 3 years in a "pond" in their green house and i have had it for at least 6 years so its at least 9 years old

scat i have had for at least 5 years and i know it was in the now closed lfs for a year before the store owner died and i bought it during the closeing sale the heirs had so its at least 6 years old

I have a pair of Occel. clowns that spawned again two nights ago. I got them 15 years ago (and their LTA). The female has gotten a bit more aggressive over the last few years but they haven't changed appearance in the last decade.

Picture to follow when I get home from work.

Ive had a pair of GSM clowns and a flame hawk for over 6 years...both lived through Hurricanes Katrina(a week and a half no power) and Wilma(close to 3 weeks no power).

I have my occelaris pair for 2 years, they were the first fish i got and i plan on keeping them for many years. I also have a bicolor angelfish who is at least 6 years old, but it could be older.
