what mode do you run your Vortech in?

I've been running in lagoon mode based simply on my own observations....

I run 2 in reefcrest anti-sync. Lagoon mode is great too, but doesnt work well when using 2 pumps in anti-sync mode

probably too soon to say but my initial observations seem to be that lagoon mode is best for my particular application

Advancedaquarist.com Dana Riddle's review on the mp10, yes a different pump but i think its the same program so i would imagine the results are the same.

I would post a link but i am not sure about the rules on that stuff.

I ran reef crest for 2 months, pulse for 2 weeks, and I've been running lagoon crest for the past month. I really prefer the lagoon crest for my system. It puts out a great deal of flow and I find that the softies and LPS have an easier time with the more gentle transition from high to low.

I just moved them to the sides of the aquarium last week. (They were on the back.)

I've had them both on random reef crest since I've purchased them. I didn't bother with slaving one. I may play with the lagoon setting, since others here are having success with it.

+1 for Lagoon, it works well with a mixed reef. If I feel like showing off, I'll tune in a wave temporarily in short pulse.

I'm going to guess that it's because the real ocean tides and currents don't go into "sleep mode" when the sun goes down.

To me, the sleep modes would be useful if I had an aquarium in the bedroom and I wanted to reduce noise, (not that you'd hear any pumps over my snoring...)

might I ask why?

my Vortech is (amazingly!) silent so noise isn't a factor for me. Oxygen saturation and nocturnal coral PE are why I don't turn down water flow at night.

thanks Scott, BMX, Belgian, and Gary. I never had it as an option. Just wondering what people's opinion was. Not sure which way I'm going to go with it. Gotta wait til I set it up and fart around with the settings. I did set up ABC's Vortecs, but every aquarium is different.
