When to prune the caulerpa?

This huge growth started off as just a single strand of grapes. Now it's filling up the fuge. There are hundreds of new bud on their way. Should I just let it grow or take some out? I fed a bunch to my tangs and angels last week and they swallowed it right up.

BTW, My nitrates are still quite high, between 50-80ppm

I would take at least half out

I would take half out and stop feeding it to your fish. You are trying to get it to use up your nitrates then putting them right back into your system with the feedings.

Respectfully disagree with Pife. One way or the other your tangs need to eat. Consider your caulerpa your own farmed veg. Assuming there's lots of excess then get rid of a bunch too.
