Where do you guys purchase your nori/seaweed?

Not sure if this is the correct sub-forum for this, please move if not.
Buying from the LFS can get a bit expensive as the "fish based" kind seems to get overpriced. Is human-grade sushi nori/seaweed okay for my tank? Does it have additives that would hurt my fish?
 
Asian Mart cheaper than any place out there, just look for Roasted without any flavoring. Look at the ingredients and you can usually find one that has no oils or salts and is just roasted.
 
Oh sorry . I don't really feed my fish cheap things . Never really know where it came from .. Kind of like fast food it's not really good for you
 
Nori from the Asian Mart, Two Little Fishes, Amazon, Safeway, etc is all the same. As long as its food grade there is not a difference. Just buy Roasted and look at the ingredients to make sure there are no oils or salts. If you feel better buying Two Little Fishes brand I'm not gonna knock it but for that price you can buy a whole lot more from the Asian Mart that is the same exact thing.

Or you could like read the label and see exactly where it came from? Pretty ridiculous and condescending reply there.

Thanks! So the amazon links I posted are good even though it says "roasted"? No difference?

What you buy at the LFS or get from fish food "manufacturers" is always some type of (hopefully unseasoned) sushi nori for human consumption, just cut and repackaged and highly overpriced.
I just buy mine at one of the many Asian grocery stores around here. You get 50 sheet packs of uneven cuts for a few dollars - one of those should last you a very long time.
At Asian stores you also find other dried algae that may even be better. Many of them are just dried but otherwise unprocessed, so when reconstituted they are more like fresh algae.
I feed my fish Wakame (the green sea lettuce you get in Miso soup) and they like it. It also holds up longer than nori and can be soaked with vitamins or Selcon for example
 
Wow! Looks like I can get wakame seaweed for $1 per oz!!!! Trying a $5 2.6oz bag before getting the $35 35oz package :D
If my fish don't like it I'll switch to the nori posted above. Thanks everyone!!! :D

There is no nori made for fish - what's sold for fish is made for humans.

Some industrious guys figured out that you can make a pretty penny of uneducated suckers by buying it in bulk, repackaging it and slapping a fish food label on it.
 
Asian markets sell packages for $0.99. I buy them all the time, not sure why anyone would spend more for unseasoned, roasted, seaweed.
