Where'd BB guys go??

Not too sure how you guys at RC are gonna take this question, but, where did all the BB pioneers go?(Bomber,SeanT,etc...) Meaning, are they on another site that someone can clue me in on?? They are a big reason I decided to go BB and I know that they had a "falling out" of sorts on this site, but, they were a wealth of knowledge for BB users.

Any help is appreciated.

Sunny: nothing for nothing, but, I wasn't trying to start a debate here on how BB was a Fad. Just because you happen to go back to sand doesn't mean that everyone has, I still happen to really like my BB system and actually prefer it over my DSB system. But, that's not for this post. If you don't know what happened to them or where they went, I would have rather you have just closed the window and not replied.

Not trying to sound rude, just really didn't want to read how my methodology is/was just a fad.

I believe they left RC, there was this really heated discussion and because of it most of the bb pioneers and even some of the dsb experts where involve, I know there was something about a certain coral in Bombers tank tht he posted a pic and it all went to hell from there. Not sure the whole story, I just know that a lot of good expert advise is now not here, not saying there isn't plenty left, there is. Maybe someone cna chime in and provide more detail.

trueperc:Thanks. Yeah, I was aware of that thread where the s*** hit the fan, so to speak. I was more wondering whether they subscribed to another site, not to downplay RC. Reef Central is VERY informative and I credit this site to any/all my knowledge about reefing. I am on this site just about every time I am in front of a computer, just looking to see how their tanks are doing/what changes they have had to make to make their tanks work and continue thriving.

All fads eventually FADe away.

The early tanks that kept SPS were BB, and syphoned regularly due to lack of skimmers (not invented yet).

Berlin method was largly BB tanks, though some used small amounts of sand.

Labs have been keeping BB tanks for many, many years.


I think sand is the fad.

Sorry - but that's incorrect. One person mentioned on this thread was banned, but for a completely unrelated reason; well after what someone referred to as the "falling out."

Spreading rumor based on speculation does no one any good and can make you appear foolish.

I'm not 100% sure if Bomber is still posting on the internet after what happened. I've heard rumors he posts on TRT, but then again, it might just be a rumor, eh?

Good riddance to those preachers that are gone, it was getting tiring listening to people argue day in and day out.

I am not taking sides with either belief, but at least Dr. Ron never went on to everybody's BB thread and tried to derail their beliefs. The person who used to do that with the DSB threads was just plain annoying and I'm glad he's gone.

Only thing I can say is that I did join some other sites, but I do come back here, cause I like it, heck I paid for it. I am a fan of this site, regardless, even some great guys I enjoyed like Anthony and Borneman all left I still enjoy being here, just as much as I enjoy being on other sites too. I still prefer diving, and looking at my own reef over anyone's words, just my two cents.
