Which Clam is the least light demeanding one? And whatever it is (Im guessing either Squamosa, or Derasa, right?) Will it survive on the SB of a 20g tank (16" from the light) how about on rocks closer to the light?

Lighting
1 32W 10,000k PC
1 32W Actnics 3 PC
2 20W 50/50 PC

Total Wattage
104W or 5.2W per Gallon

Thanks

I agree. I have two of them in a 10 gallon w/ 80 watts of PC. There doing great, they both have move from the light to a little under the branch rock I have setup. Feed them twice a week, but more important, give them CA, and lots of it, they love it. Bulbs are 6700, 10k, 03, and blue. They like the 6700 best, who new.
Good luck.

i agree with reefann, "hippos" wouldn;t need as much light either, unless u are just looking for a "look"

Hippos and squamosa are your two choices, with hippo being less demanding, and you won't have to worry about it outgrowing your tank. NO matter what you get, make sure that CA stays at 425-450 and that alk at 10-12 DKH. GOod luck! :)

Correct, but they need at least a 200 gallon tank or so. I knnow clam fanatics that have 250s that won't get one.

SOme people thing "I'll sell or give away when it gets too big" The problem is many people report serious problems when moving a big gigas.

Jslomo420: Just an observation...if you are interested in getting a clam you would most likely need to get rid of the bi-color first. Many people on here, including one well known clam dealer, report that they are clam killers!

I was worried about my dottyback the bi-color is a surprise. Thank You if i do get a clam Ill be sure to find a more suitable home for him.
