They shouldn't bother each other too much. You have to be absolutely certain that the scooter takes prepared foods, if your tank is new. If not, it will die within weeks from starvation, when all the natural fauna has been eaten up.

Well I've had dozens of them rolling around my grow out system, currently inhabitated by a small Dragonet, small goby, cleaner Shrimp, harlequin Shrimp, and a large clean up crew. Going on about 18 months now without them touching anything that wasn't coral.
You sure you're talking about chocolate chip starfish, and not the green brittle ones? The green brittle are bad news, but I've never seen an issue with chocolate chips.

No, you should wait close to a year for a 70 gallon tank.

Please do extensive research on any fish, before buying them. A quick google "When can I have a red scooter blenny" gives you tons of material.

Reading down, was about to chip in with my reassurances, but it looks as though you don't really need them any more!
I've got a Lubbock's and two flashers in a tank with a mated pair of firefish. One of the fires is out from the moment the blue lights come on in the morning, the other doesn't put in an appearance until early afternoon. They've got distinct personalities!

I currently have a 37 gallon saltwater tank that is about four months old now and I was thinking about adding a scooter blenny. I have checked and all of my fish are compatible. I just wanted to get some opinions on whether it would work in the tank of that size and age.

No, sorry, and kudos for checking. This is a dragonet, like a mandarin. 100 gallon tank to feed it, because it eats naturally reproducing crustaceans in the tank, and does so on a very large scale, even though it's a tiny fish. It would starve to death. Smallest Blennies, gobies, all would work well for that size tank.

I have a 37 gallon saltwater tank and I wanted to put in a filefish. The best one for my tank would be a matted filefish but I do have a hermit crab and a chocolate chip starfish. My concern is that the filefish will eat the hermit and the starfish. Thoughts?
