geez guys read between the lines. if im understanding correctly this guy is similar to me. i prefer to get a fish small and raise it to an adult, it gives me pride and joy almost like having a kid (im 14). essentually this is a grow out so dont b*tch about anything. i wouldnt want to buy a 1-2" baby let alone a 3-4" guy and put him in a 125 or 180 cuase he'll get lost it feels like. i have a 3" yellow tang in my 75, im planning on getting a hippo, lavender, or powder brown as another fish cuase my tank seems empty. im freinds with every LFS around here and all the club members so i can find a tank for one of the tangs when it grows out of my tank. ive made up my mind about that and pnavarro170 has made up his mind about the 3 tangs to GROW OUT, hes just curious what tangs you like. its nothing permenent just like growing out a frag in a frag tank before putting it in the DT. give the man what he wants.
youve probably made up your mind on the 3 tangs (i got ****ed after the first page so i just hit reply and skipped the rest) but i think a hippo tang Paracanthurus hepatus for its vibrant blue and black contrast, lavender tang Acanthurus nigrofuscus for its uniqueness, and a powder brown Acanthurus japonicus for its awesome would be awesome if you take the neccesarry precations to QT and add together or whatever (i havent QTd any fish lol, im going to start now tho lost too much) to avoid pre-mature death from ich or whatever. good luck id love to see the tank with the tangs in it and the upgrade in the next year hopefully.
2 last things, i like the openness of the rockscape but like previously said youll need to feed a lot of nori cuase there isnt a lot of grzing space. maybe try pillars of rocks (with PVC in the middle to support) as a better option. also nothing ****es me off more when people tell me i cant have this in this tank/setting, nothing happens the same twice. i think personal experiance is better than hearing from a profesional (blanking on names) but when you dont have personal experiance, trust the pros or try it or both.
good luck!
