As the title suggests, I'd like to have some opinions from people on who makes the best Calcium Reactor Regulator for my SPS tank. I've got the Milwaukee brand one now and have replaced the solenoid twice in the last six months. I am ready for something with a lot better quality. I'd rather stay with something that has a solenoid as opposed to one that does not. Let me know your thoughts on the regulator you use. How long you've had it in operation without fault would be nice to know too.

I had the same problems as scotty with a milwaukee, and the guy from milwaukee intstruments(which is in NC for some reason) told me it should only last about a year. I switched to one from aquamedic and have been happy since

you can usually take a 'bad' solenoid apart and reseat the diaphram to fix it. have had my milwaukee for years with no issues whatsoever.

i second the m3 from Marine Depot.I've used the Milwaukee and it was a pain. No problems since day one with the M3.

Just my experience

Our Milwaukee has always given us problems, from sticking solenoids to leaking seals to just outright poor quality needle valve making it impossible to "dial in".

I will be checking out the M3 that everyone keeps referring to, goodness knows MD already gets enough of my paycheck each month though :)

I have been using 2 Aqualine line regulators for the last 8 years .... no problem and the Aqua Medic soleniod, one set (previously I did not use a soleniod) the last 2 years and it works perfectly.

How do you reseat the diaphram on a milwaukee solenoid? I have one and it doen't seem to be working. I would like to fix it if I could figure out how. Thanks!

i have a jbj... i went through a 20lb co2 bottle every month and a half... i check everything... no leak and i wasn't dripping but a bubble every 2 seconds. i went to harbor freight and got a new regulator switched it out and put the solenoid and bubble counter on it.. turn the regulator to 2lbs of pressure and a 20lb bottle will last me 11 mths with the same bubble every 2 seconds.

you can make your own with parts from grainger and harbor freight. for 75 bucks.
