sorry if the title sounds so catchy, to be ready to see a bunch of corals battle it out with amazing pics and all that(hopefully will eventually once theve really grown)

i have several encrusting montis, growing close to small acropora frags that are still small.

will they just go around each other? or is there a good chance either the monti or acros will win? its my encrusting montis id like to be in check if anything.

thanks in advance!

In my experence most of the time a acro will be able to fend off a encrusting monti. You can see were this efflo meets op with this pockerstar that the efflo drives the monti back everytime. But that's not always the case on the other end of my tank a tyree rainbow is slowly trying to overtake a ORA ice tort.

I guess you just don't know tell they meet.

Dan Rigle has pics of a sunset monti killing a acro. So, I would say that you can't say for sure until it happens.

In my experience, generally, when an acro gets knocked over onto a monti, the monti gets the worst of it. There could quite likely be a different outcome depending on the specific monti and acro types involved.

Unless it's a red plating monti...you need to keep it trimmed and away from your acro if you like it:thumbsup:

acro into acro for me has ended in my trimming both with tissue loss on both colonies.
