Who would make a good boyfriend? (pic)

I've got a female (assumed, 'cause shes' big) black clarkii (I'm almost positive she is a clarkii).
I am planning to get her a mate when I upgrade. What do you guys think would make a cute couple? I would not raise the eggs, but there is someone within a couple hours that does raise clownfish. I haven't asked if he would want them though. :)

She currently hosts in my rose bubble tip (E. Quadricolor).

try to get the smallest one you can find. preferably one that hasent been left alone for a long amount of time.

qt the baby so theres no chance of getting the bigger one sick.. treat baby if you see signs of any sickness

when you add it, they might bicker a bit... larger one will want to show the smaller one that its the dominat one.
once the baby starts to submit you should be ok

Really? I should get another clarkii?
People have so many different pairings... that kinda look cool. :P

She wouldn't be accepting of any other clown?

I had a very large female Clarkii. I got the smallest male I could find from a local breeder and they paired up in minutes. She protected him from other fish within an hour. He grew very fast too. I later sold the pair a year or so later to a LFS.

um... the only way to know for sure is if you know where it came from.

babys start off sexless.
under the right conditions (no other female or male prent)
a juvinial will first turn male. and if theres no female present, or its the most dominat, it will then turn female.

takes a good chunk of time.

if you see a 'pair' the larger more aggressive one is usually the female

I figured it would usually be the larger of the pair to be a female.

So this applies to all clowns then?

Male first, until the time is right, they ll change gender?

Thanks

I got 3 clowns in my tank, they always do everything together, I figured they are either all a group of guys, or a male with 1 on each hand.

Hey Stephany, URS member here..id try to find another black variant clarkii rather than a regular one.. she looks good, i was actually going to get that exact fish but couldnt get out that way, glad to see its doing good..i had another black clarkii to pair with her, but the 1.5 hour drive was very conflicting with my work schedule at the time.. id like to see a pic with her in the anemone..

Hey Tony ;)
I know, I've got a good memory. :D

She is doing well, a seemingly happy fish. She likes to play in the flow, and doesn't hang in the anemone except for the last half hour of the day... before the lights go off.

I am moving my tank this week so I'm going to have to wait until after it is moved before I get some more pictures. I've not been in care of my tank the last month, and with the algae... oy, it has seen much better days.

Do you still have that other black clarkii? I'd could part with her if you wanted to meet half way or something. I'm a bit gun shy
about moving after poor Gary lost his fish.

nope i dont have it anymore.. i just recently moved my tank and it was more stressful on me than everything else i think.. i wouldnt be to worried to move eveything, just think everything out try to have a plan for anything that could happen(or at least try too) give yourself plenty of time, and some help.. how far are you moving the tank??

About 15 minutes away, 9 miles.

I'm pretty sure there was a link to a step by step guide on here, when Gary moved. Gotta see if I can google that up.
