AMEN on the xenia! That's one coral I wish we would have never gotten. It will take over in a heartbeat and grow right the heck over your other corals -- if you let it - I am constantly "mowing" it down....

And some people can't grow them. They are like a weed in our tank....

Yea im not too worried at the moment im trying to keep it on the left side of the tank for now, i am still recovering from a huge set back that i had caused by some calurpa that bleached in my sump or it went sexual im not sure but it killed pretty much everything in my tank except for those 2 clown fish that u see in the pic, also the xenia was exterminated and its only now growing back pretty fast.

That pink xenia isn't so bad. Grab it with a reef tweezers and it peels right off. Just have to stay on top of it, because otherwise, it's really really pretty.

Nice looking tanks, folks!

way to go bangkokMatt--finally get to see your whole tank--I've seen alot of the bits and pieces in a few posts or so:eek1:

the tank is awesome---I was just commenting on flow----when you look at your surface area--that's the way it should be

Thanks Capn. And the same to your tank. Great growth in those pics:)

Totally agree on the Xenia; it really is a cool coral. But it does grow and it needs to be cut back if you will. It's competing with other corals in my tank now so it's being kept in check if you will by other tank mates:)

If you really want to eradicate Xenia I hear fluke tab will do the trick!

great tank--really clean---I notice you got a mod maxijet on there--probably helps with the cleanliness of the tank---1600 gal per hour==awesome

I was told to use a maxi jet with my three korilias because it would work on a variable timer unlike the korilinas
I had the mod kit in my hand and then I was told the mod maxis wouldn't work on the timer--drat
now I have just the plain onld 295 gph maxi on a timer--it distrubs the flow a bit I guess

Nice tank seapug i love clean tanks! What camera did u use to take those pics, i am always trying to get the colors to pop like that but it just wont happen with my camera (Canon Eos D20).

Thanks. I try to run a tight ship, Capn.

That is the SureFlow MJ Mod you see. I just swapped out the EcoMod for it. I actually like the EcoMod better (SureFlow has strange buzz that comes and goes), but the SureFlow came with the Koralia-type swivel base. There's also 2 Koralias and a MJ600 with a hydor deflector on it in the back. I don't know...its all a bunch of crap that I can't resist at least trying.

I really just need to ditch it all and get 3 regular MJs and a good wavemaker.

Goblinfish, it's my wife's canon ixy on the "Underwater" setting (filters out a little blue). It takes decent pictures like these but is terrible for Macro shots. Plus, it always makes my tank look really dark. Anyway, glad you like it...I wish I did. hehe

I haven't heard of fluke tab - what is it?

here is an almost FTS, hard to get close on 8ft :) and a couple half shots. I arranged the rock in a valley, but may fill in with more live rock, as I like the reef wall look. I used pvc frames to get more flow behind the rocks

nice, kraash! Is that the 525? It's like a fish city.

Is that GSP on the bottom there? Nice placement.

Going back to page 1: Landlord.... LOVE your aquascaping. Looks very natural.

Not intending to start a debate thread, but why is every tank shown so far have a DSB or SSB? Let's add some BB's to the mix! Very nice displays (& some fuges too) everyone.

mike

hey thanks seapug, yeah that is the 525 a couple months ago. I actually think I need more fish, I only have 11 fish and need more poo :)
That is GSP, half of the original colony, it was over 3 ft long at one time!!
I agree clams are your friend ;)
