Why do we still use true/false for ID?

I think we pretty much know by now the difference between Percula and occelaris clowns, or at least know they are different clowns, yet I still see all the time listed as true perc, or false, and some even call true occs!
Can I call my perculas false occs?LOL
We don't call maroons true maroons?
Can we just call them percula or occelaris, or is this too well set in?LOL
Not baggin on those that do, just curious as to why we still label this way?

I just call them Percs or O's --- my spelling is so bad, that I won't try to spell out Occelaris (( I cut and pasted that from your post. :) ))

I agree that the true and false can get pretty confusing especially when trying to order online.

+1 Todd. From my experience, anyone that is REALLY into clowns and/or breeders will only use percs or occelaris for defining. You can still call it a True Perc, but there's really no such thing as a False Perc. It's analogous to calling a yellow lab a false black lab. They're similar, but definitely have different names.

but they are both labs. A better analogy would be to say calling a German Shepard a false lab.

I am also a hater of the term false perc

I too have trouble spelling.

Thats OK, w/ a tank as cool as yours we pretty much just stare at pictures w/ oohs and ahhs!LOL

I get the occasional drool along with the oohs and ahhs!

I use percs & O's as well...too confusing with the true & false thing...sometimes I get blank stares from people at the LFS when I use true & false...which I find weird...haha!
