I know its the ballast have moved differant lights into the socket. I have the duel 400's

Is this a common occurance? Anything I can salvage from it? I really dont want to spend the money on a new one

cool, thanks Chad. It has Feb 2006 on the bottom of it so I am thinking its pretty new

You know who I should contact?

I have had some problems with my brand new Sunlight Supply Ballasts as well. I bought two dual 400w HQI ballasts from Marine Solutions about a year or so ago...one of them wasn't working...the one side would not fire a bulb and the other kept tripping the breaker.

Also, both of my dual 175w pulse start ballasts were tripping breakers....I have MANY 20amp GFCI breakers at my disposal...I tried different bulbs, different pendants all to no avail.

I talked with Chris Guthrie at Sunlight Supply, he sent RMAs to my house and I sent in all three ballasts for repair. From what I am told, two of them had problems and the other one tested fine. FWIW, these were all brand new ballasts that had just been sitting in the basement on the Nanook Tank Plan. You can imagine that I was upset because I spent a LOT of money for SLS ballasts and expected years of trouble-free service.

So, I hope they are currently fixing my ballasts and that they will have NO problems whatsoever when I get them back. It still might be a while til I get water in the tanks, so I hope they back them up when the time comes as well.

The contact information for SLS is:

I guess I will need to buy one if this one needs to go in for repair, but at least now I know this isnt an islolated incident

Happy Thansgiving!
