If I only have 216 watt PC lights in a 55 gallon tank, could I keep a derasa or squasmosa on the sand?......also, how fast do they grow? I know that they could outgrow my tank, but how long will that take? Which would I be better off getting? thanks,

you should go with the derasa.

No clams with that light. For a tank that sixe I will get maximas, Derassa is the fastest growing of them all. It will be football sized in less than 3 years.
