You definitely have an obsession with crabs.

Is that worm coming out during the day!?
Or you catching it at night, either way those are awesome photos

This is right at feeding time.

The red dots are cyploseese and there should have been some mysis floating around.

The Bristleworms come out at feeding time and at night. Well feeding time is about 8pm and night time is at 11pm.

That is my longest bristleworm I looked at him last night and he is about 14-16 inches. or so. I did not get a chance to get my DSLR out so I just used my phone. Otherwise he would have been really close up. I need to time it better next time and have it ready when he comes out.

you need to get that monster out of there and have him frozen in carbonate, or what ever it was they froze han solo in.... :uhoh2:

Actually I like my Bristle's. They are a spot of enjoyment and intrigue.

My boys come and look at the tank when I am feeding sometimes. One is freaked out by it, I explained that if he messed up anymore I was going to put it in his bed, LOL...

I keep an eye on my polyps and clam to ensure all is accounted for.

Naah, bristles are good. In 30 years of reefing I only had one fire-worm - one! All the rest were harmless scavengers. BTW, Worm, that photo of a brittle star arm back a few days reminded me of that movie Alien! Nice.

Didn't you see?? That is from my predator tank.

That is a hatchling. I had to take off it's spike on the end.

The gestation was pretty good, I used one of the neighbor kids. He was playing music too loud.

Yeah there are some clowns in there too. They stay away from it though. I would have to see what happens if they got into a fight.

Bad enough that they chase each other all over the place. Almost like they are going to spawn soon. I guess i need to put a flat tile down for them and see how it goes.

That's odd , I dose 10ml of A and B and I need to shut skimmer off for the rest of the night. If course I dose at night.

I turn mine off for 30 minutes after dosing. When I turn it back on it runs perfectly.

I decided to do something different over the weekend (Sunday to be exact.)

The following video shows the cleaning of the skimmer and ATS. It includes normal, narrated, and time lapse types of video. I would like to do more like this but I do not know if people even really view them, or bots scan the page and make the count go up.

If you would/could take a look at the video, give me some feedback, ie "Slow down on the camera panning over the skimmer lid, hard to see and made me dizzy."

Hopefully this video will show that it does not take long to do some simple maintenance.

Thanks

I will make it embedded in a few days. I wanted to see the demographics and see if there are BOTS scanning/clicking on the video's instead.

Pretty good video. I noticed you did not clean the inside of your skimmer neck (cone). Do you normally clean it or just not when you did the video? I try to clean mine each time I empty the cup as I do not want any coralline algae to start to grow on the inside.

That algae scrubber really works...I will have to look back and see when you added it and where you got it from.

I normally clean it during my full maintenance. Sometimes I will take something and clean it with my hand. For the video though I just left it, it was hard enough trying to hold the camera. I have my tripod but it is in my car, at the shop.

I have a few spots of coraline inside it.

Yeah the ATS really works.
I think i have had it running for a bit. May 9 was when I received it. Turboaquatics.

Nice vid, i would make the algae scrubber cleaning a separate video, is that just the skimmer return with a screen connected to it?

also it looked like you cleaned 4 collection cups.

I was thinking about splitting them up but I wanted to show others how a quick 30 minutes (20 min in video) cleanup really does not take long and that you do not need any special equipment. (Basically that tank maintenance is a quick job and as long as it is kept up on helps 100% across the board.)

The Algae Turf Scrubber (ATS) is a light controlled box that has a screen inside it. The screen is fed from a pump, with tank/sump water. There are two sides with LED lights that provide a perfect growth situation for GHA. This GHA growth takes out of the tank and cleaning/harvesting removes it from the environment.

I have had it running since the end of May and had growth on it in less than a week. My tank pictures will show that I had a MAJOR GHA problem. With the addition of a Sea Hare, and exporting the nutrients in the ATS I have tackled the GHA problem and now have a beautiful tank that I am no longer afraid to show off or take pictures of the whole thing, compared to selectively trying to limit the view of the GHA.

My skimmer is kinda large, compared to some I have seen. The amount was... well.. a lot. You saw I put on gloves. If I were to guess.. I would say about 3 cups of poo.

OK... starting to pre-plan more on the 120 addition.

Measurements done last night (again) and sump ideas flowing.

Here is the embeded video, for those that do not like to click on a link and want it in the thread:
