Worried!!!

Ordered my Twistii Tamarin from LiveAquaria over the weekend as well as a blenny.

It shipped out yesterday to be delivered today by 3pm. It's now 3:30, and the tracking shows it hasn't even been put on a truck for delivery.

I called them at 2:30, and they didn't know where it was. I called them again a few minutes ago, and they still don't know where it is.

This was my first LA order, and I know it's not their fault. This is just my luck, though.

Now I've been told there's been a late plane, and they won't be delivered until tomorrow morning!!!!!!!!

How is it that there's been a late plane when the tracking says they've been sitting in Indy since 2am??!! And since the lady AT FedEx told me that her system isn't showing any delays??!!!

Argh!

that is just bad luck, demand an explanation to the tracking information sayings it has been in indy since 2 am. Also im guessing they used the service that is guaranteed to get there by 3? just some bad luck, hope the fish is ok but most likely not.

It does suck for the fishe's sake but L.A. is usually very good at replacing stuff that is in no way the customers fault.

Sounds like you're getting the runaround. If everything arrives alive, you'll never know what damage was done.

FedEx called me about 20 minutes after LA, and apparently there was no late plane, but rather a sorting error and it was loaded in to a container to go somewhere else.

I asked if it could be picked up tonight, and she said maybe, but it was buried in the back of the container. So, she said they would call me if they found it, but it's now 6:45, so I doubt I will hear from them tonight.

At this point, I'm just bracing myself for dead fish. Either way, FedEx will refund my shipping when it comes for not meeting the 3pm deadline, and we know how good LA is.

I'm more upset that I've been told 3-4 different reasons for why my fish aren't here.

First lady said there were no delays, 2nd lady with LA told me there was a late plane, and 3rd FedEx lady tells me it's a sorting error. So, which is it because I believe the tracking when it says they've been here since 2am.

I'm glad I had them shipped to work or else I would have missed out on 2 days of work waiting around for FedEx. I left a note for contact in case of attempted delivery before I get there at 7am.

That is sad, but it does happen sometimes. Human error, usuallly what happens to our fish in this hobby. Very sorry it happened to you on your first try with L A.
At least if they do show up deceased there is a guarantee.

Dont worry. 99% of the time, the fish are packed excessively well, to tolerate mistakes such as this. I had a large butterfly shipped to me from LA, that spent TWO extra days in transit, and when it arrived, it looks like a picture of one in the coean- no problems.

If the fish do happen to appear in distress, dont dillydally with acclimitrization, just take them out of the bad water and put them in clean water. Please note- I am NOT suggesting they go into the display, but into clkena water. I hope a QT is ready, but if not, and youre going to risk them right into the display, at least transition them with a bucket of tank water until stable.

But, as I aid, dont write them off yet.

That happened to me with a shipment from Live Aq. & the fish (3 butterflies)were fine. They were dealyed over 24 hours. LA uses a high oxygen mix to fill the bags just for cases like this.

I never acclimate more than an hour, but I did cut the acclimation down to about 40 minutes & then into QT.

Yeah, I've had a QT ready to go for the last couple of weeks specifically for this reason.

Depending on how they are looking, I will either just dump them in, or I'll do a fast acclimate. We'll see how they look when they get here.

Well, they are here and everyone seems to be alive at the moment. They are cold, but don't seem to be too stressed. Only time will tell, though. Here's to hoping everyone stays healthy!

Good luck Erin!

Live Aquaria is absolutely amazing in every aspect... A few weeks back I got an Acropora colony that was delivered on Monday instead of a Saturday... over 48 hours late and over 72 hours in the bag... and it arrived perfectly healthy... they are simply a model for the industry with a man I respect at the helm (Kevin Kohen) more than anyone in the industry...

Thanks everyone.

The wrasse has gone into hiding, and I don't expect to see it for a couple of days  We'll see then if it's going to be okay mouth wise, since that's usually what gets damaged.

The blenny seems to be fine, so I'm hoping it's a good sign that the wrasse will be as well.
