Worth it to buy gig?

There's a small gig at a LFS, wondering if its worth getting. Its about 4" across when open. Bleached, but the base has no injuries and its mouth is tight. I have cipro in case I need it. Its $40, is it worth it?

Take a real good look at the verracue. My S. helianthus was really bleached and the verracue looked green/brown. Here's my thread with pics. I'd read the FAQ's and didn't see the helianthus mentioned. Everything looked like what I had read, but I just didn't have the experience to tell when I made the purchase.

Get some pictures, including the column and post them up and the peeps here will make sure you get a good ID first.

There have been a few threads lately where a "gig" was purchased that turned out to be a helianthus.

I'm heading there this afternoon to check it out in more detail. Been reading up on helianthus vs. gigantea for a little while, that was my main concern. Do not want a helianthus!

IMO, I think Gig of any color is worth it 50 dollars or under, that is it it look like it going to make it (with or without treatment)

Looked too much like a helianthus so I passed. Bummer since they dropped the price today to $20.
