WOW internet Cable Phone

Has anyone switched over to this provider yet. Its WOW or Wide open West. They offer bundle packages for net and cable services. With comcast going up and up I may think about switching providers. Any input would be great.

I have been using WOW for internet and cable for about 2 years. I got sick of comcast raising my rates constantly and I have too many trees for satellite. I am pretty happy with them. i use Vonage for phone service so I can't really comment on their phone service. Definatly no problems with the cable service and rates have been stable since I signed up. I get the HD package and HD DVR from them which is also very nice. I recomended them to two of my cousins that have bothe been very happy with it as well.

I'm interested in this as well. The last place I worked at was relatively small and we had a WOW commercial account that seemed rock-solid.

But I'm looking to change services at home now. AT&T just jacked my DSL rate up to 59.99/mo. ASSUMING I wanted the "Pro" DSL package. Plus, their service has been garbage for me since taking over SBC; the connection goes down daily and after placing many service calls to them, they claim that I'm trying to access my DSL service at "peak usage times" and that sometimes the connection gets overloaded. What a joke!

LOL! So your usage is supposed to be dictated when their equipment isn't so loaded? I'd be raising hell if I paid $60/mo and was told my service would only be reliable for certain time periods!

It's pretty crazy huh? I call about once or twice a week and they have me reset my DSL modem and computer before I can get any further with them and always get that respose afterwards. And this has all been happening since AT&T took over. I've been tempted the last couple of months to "prorate" my payment to reflect the service that I'm receiving, but then I decide that dealing with all of the collections stuff later on would be too much of a hassle. So I'd rather just cancel and go cable! (I'm waiting to hear if WOW has service in my area.)

I can't get it here :( Their internet is so much better than comcast.... 1mb up ,I get like 200k now...

Take a look at this my friend just signed up $29.99 a month for a year and he was an existing customer paying like $60. its a faster speed on the upload and a cheaper price . I'm going to call and upgrade. And the word is they never up the price after a year.I've been on SBC/AT&T on the pro package for $48 . 2years now no change.

New DSL package and price

I'm using comcast now and even though its expensive I don't think I have had an outage more than once in almost a year and that was only for 2 hours. However they are expensive.

I had switched to SBC DSL for 19.99/month for about a year and it was a nightmare. Constant outages and I had the same connection problems as RobChuck. Then after the year expired they jacked up my rate to $49.99 a month which I didn't notice for like 3 months (wife pays the bills). When I called they said my contract had expired and I could renew for a year to go back to $19.99. I asked if they would credit the three months they said "We are under no obligation to notify you your contract expired." I went back to comcast....

I've heard good things about Vonage but my parents got it for their small business and it didn't work for them (tons of dropped calls and constant static) and it takes like 2 months and countless hours on the phone to get your number back if you want to switch out.

Long story short, I had SBC DSL and asked if I could get CallVantage (VOIP) and AT&T said sure-no problem, 5 days later SBC canceled my phone line... no more DSL or VOIP. After spending over 5 hours on the phone going back and forth with both companies (even do they are one) I had to call in and get new service, they could not reconnect. Told me that it will take 5 days to get service again, I said ok. 4 days later they called and my wife answer the call, SBC told her that they did not know when they could get our service back up. Wife was really p* off.. I went on line and got Comocast for $19.99 for 6 months, I know the rate is going to go up but that's ok. I don't have to deal with SBC/At&T anymore.... and for VOIP I got service from SunRocket for $200 per year. I'm a happy camper and my wife is too.
SunRocket calls were breaking up a bit at the begining, just and FYI

sorry, it wasn't short :) but I feel much better, thanks!

Threads like this burn me up to no end. Having alot of inside information I can tell you guys that some of these posts contain mis-information. That's all I'm going to say. There are pluses and minuses to both, but get the facts before you trash a company.

Easy to be upset about something you take for granted.

I hope nothing bad happens to your homes or car or you love ones live with no 911 not good at all.. Good luck to all that gets internet Cable Phones

Let me add this also.

A lot of good people put a lot of hard work into our plant. There are a ton of dedicated people that really do risk life and limb everyday so you can talk on the phone, access the internet etc.

I must reiterate as well that some of the information in this thread is simply untrue. Someone was either lied to, or is lying to us.
