Holy Smokes!

I would love to own a pair some day! To bad that will never happen!

They are one of the most striking Fish to me...

It's truly a beautiful pair. I really like the open space in the tank. The filter intake and return appeared to be from a Fluval FX5.

I was surprised at what a drab tank housed these magnificent fish. I can appreciate simple, but to me, this looked like a QT. On the other hand, they looked fantastically healthy, and that's really what matters...

Am I weird that I like the female's markings better? :o Both stunning fish to see, though. I loved the video!

Those were my thoughts exactly. As long as they're doing well I guess we should be happy though. Truly a stunning pair of fish.

These were an absolute joy to see, especially in video form.

I am a bit confused though on "$30,000 was just the asking price, not what they actually reatiler for." Like a car? Haggled the dealer down a touch?

Yep, just a difference in cultures I'm not sure we'll ever see eye-to-eye on. Perhaps the most expensive fish sold in this hobby live in what looks like no bigger than a 75gal, meanwhile here "a 120gal is no where near big enough" for a Bellus pair....

I think if the male's head wasn't so lumpy, like a fat cichlid, I'd like his colors more too.

Very interesting to see. What do you want him to do with the tank? It's obviously not his display tank, it is probably really easy to keep it clean, and the fish are always in the open.

:rolleye1:

How do you know it is not his display tank? Did you read the article? It seems that this is indeed the display for these fish, there is nothing to indicate they are going into another tank for display.....

"The Masked Angelfish pair are kept in a simple, but large and dimly lit aquarium which they share with cleaner shrimp and a pair of mature Borbonius Anthias (Holanthias borbonius). To eliminate any temperature related stress, the aquarium is kept at 18 "“ 19C (64-66F)."---Glassbox-design

I agree with previous posters that the fish are amazing, however the tank is a bit drab and depressing otherwise. To each there own, I guess.

Thanks for posting the article, I will have to frequent Glassbox-design more often.
