Xenia Troubleshooting - No pulsing, plus lumps

Hey y'all,

I recently received a few stalks of pulsing Xenia from Eilat - they looked okay at first, but very quickly stopped pulsing.
I have them in the brightest light in the aquarium (which actually might not be that bright) and they have pretty good flow, but even when the wavemaker shuts off they barely pulse at all.

Additionally, some of them started to develop these strange large lumps at the base of some of their stalks. you can see the dark lumps in the pictures attached.

Anyone have any ideas?

What is your alk? They don't like low alk/Ph.

I have observed 2 things that impacted pulsing rates. Higher salinity and higher iodine helps.
