It is not very important, but would yo call this a yellow Gigantea? Attached is a picture of my Magnifica and one of my Gigantea. I have no problem with calling my Magnifica yellow tipped tentacles. How ever, would you call the Gigantea pictured yellow? BTW, I have had it for 1 month.

It has a hint of green... But I would say its bleached and with time it shall reveal its beauty... Good luck keep us posted

Hi Minh,

Looks like you are having some good luck finding anemones lately. The base of the tentacle looks to be a nice golden brown, which is of course the color of zooxanthellae. The tips look to be light in the picture, giving the overall color a yellowish tint. If it had definite yellow tips, I would call it yellow. As it looks to me, and I had to call it some color, I might say it was gold (or light brown :) )

But hey, I've seen dark brown corals called purple and light brown corals called orange, so what the heck, call it what you want.

Like I said, it was not a really important question. The tentacle tips are light yellow in coloration and the rest of the tentacles are light brown, the color of zooxanthelae. I have him right in between two 250 W MH. Will see how he look in a few months. It does seem like I started to collect quite a few anemones.

Thanks for your comments.

This anemone is turning greener every day. This is a recent picture. Winwood stated that he had a Gigantea with similar color but turn deep green after some time. I hope the same will happen to mine. One can always hope.

I think in TRA volume 1 or 2 Sprung stated that yellow Gigantea are bleached green ones. I never believed that but maybe he was right. It was clearly a yellow bleached Gigantea when I first got him. Now I think he may be right, or hope he is right in anycase.
