Hi guys so 4 days ago I added 2 yello wrasse to my aquarium both
Went right into hiding under the sand 1 came out the following day
and the secound still hasn't come out yet any suggestions? Should I
Stur the sand or leave him be until he's comfertable to come out thank you

DO NOT stir the sand. You can injure them and/or cause further stress. Usually with these wrasses it takes a few days for them to feel comfortable and secure enough to come out. Plus they need to get used to the lighting schedule. What are the tankmates?

In the past I've lured wrasses out of the sand with mysis soaked in garlic. Hope this helps, and good luck.

I have a pair of ocellaris clowns, lawnmower blenni, manderian and a goby
Figured I woild just leave it be but might try the garlic trick thanks

+1000 Digging them up can only make it worse.

What size is the tank?

Our two came up the next day, albeit several hours late (jet lag)... Now a days, the male wakes up the female every morning. It's actually real neat to watch.

I have had a bunch of sand divers over the years, and the length of time they can take to come back out of the sand after initial introduction can be really variable. At the very least their internal clock will be out of whack. I have a Dusky Wrasse who came out right away, but had a yellow one who took almost a week. All the others have been somewhere in between.

The one goes in to sleep ever night and comes out in the am but the other one still
Hasn't come out was just wondering how long he could actually stay under the sand

Well, like I said, I had one stay in the sand bed for a week - others have reported even longer. All things being equal, I'd say the longer you don't see it the worse the prognosis though. Can you look up at the underneath of the tank from inside the stand? I can on my tank, and can usually see the tail of my dusky. See if you can see both yellows, and if they look 'alive'. Best just to wait and see though.

don't worry, they r quite hardy. some needs longer time to adjust. they will come out when feel safe. don't disturb the sand bed.

Of the two that you got, did you get one that was an established male, and one that was a female, or leaning more toward female? I was able to pick two out (one a definite male) and one that was a female and they have been doing great with each other now for almost four months. They follow each other around all day.

I had the benefit of putting the two I picked out in my LFS QT and letting them hang out for a while...

Not to sure if they were male or female

no clue if it would have made a difference at this point, but potentially introducing two together of the opposite sex may help them acclimate and ease into your tank.. I'm no expert, just my observation.

I hear that just sucks losing a fish fell bad for the little guy lol
I had cycled my tank about 3years ago and I used yellow tailed
Damsels wrked great but killed every fish I tried to put in so
Eventually I had to pull all of my rocks out to catch the little bastard
Now I try to keep calmer fish cause there's no way of catching them
Now
