^^^+1...I did the same thing. I think it kind of smooth's everything out. Here's how mine looks from the top looking from one end to the other.

Very nice and clean! Looks great.

I'll join the vega t-5 club ImageUploadedByTapatalk1395083098.728877.jpg

I'm 2 vega blues: white 10% blues 50%. I run a blue+ and a coral+. I will probably swap out the coral+ for another blue+. To pink with the coral+.

added some t12 to the tank to get some diffuse light to the sides. would like to make a comment. the t12 I added do not come close to the fluorescent I get from the reef breeders. In other words comparing each it is like night and day for looking at the blue leds compared to a t12 454 bulb.. but still using t12 to kinda fill in the shadows.

Like Sahin suggested, I would love to see the major LED players make LED/T5 hybrid. Having the linear source of light will increase coverage and reduce the need to rely on the LED's 100%, which is very beneficial if you're having "acclimation" problems.

tdb320, good luck getting a year out of your radiums :) I have to change my 400w every 6 months. Big drop in intensity and spectrum around this point (running 5 hrs daily)

What's a knock off of a Dream Chip?---Rick

It's a 5 channel multichip. Two white spectrum, two blues, and a lower end violet. I say knockoff dream chip because I am sick of being "corrected" that it's not a "real" dreamchip (another rant another day)

Is it something you had made? I'm still on the Dream Chip fence. For my tank I'll need 4 to 6,...expensive mistake.---Rick

Forgive my ignorance.. Is a dream chip the same technology as the Kessil LEDs?
Sounds like the same thing.. But I have no idea, never heard of the term dream chip..

Yep, similar tech to a Kessil. I won't get into all the other bits and pieces and claims, but you can search dreamchip and if you want more info on my setup here is my build thread: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2250389

Thanks. I'm check it out..
Personally, I love the Kessil design and feel that it is the led that best duplicates the look, feel and output of a metal halide..
Oh.. And by the way, your corals look really nice!
