Hello all. I'm interested in getting leds and I would like to ask you which led brand fixture is the most popular/best now?
Thanks!

personaly i like the ghl mitras 6200 over the radions, but both will grow sps with good color.

The GHL Mitras has not had the success I thought it would. I havent seen one tank in person that has nicely coloured up SPS under the Mitras. But I have seen plenty of tanks with really nice coral colours under the Radions...

If one is going pure LED's I'd say go for Radion or Hydra52's.

I have a single halide with 4 T5's over a 90 gallon cube. Looking to add supplements on each side. Does BML have good par? Not sure if this is the right thread. I have had success with Razors and Reefbreeders before...

BML is ok, I use the 20K multi channel fixtures and run the blue/violet channels for dawn/dusk and the white channel for adding a little shimmer during the day. With two 72" strips on either side of my T5 fixture I add about 150 PAR midway, mostly from the blue channel.

This is with just the BML strips on and sitting on the tank, with feet, over glass lids. I have them hanging now and while my fixture with 75 degree lenses still has decent PAR my 90 degree fixture is pretty bad. If you go this route and are going to suspend the lights I would use 75 degree lenses max, if not narrower.

Since you have halide you don't need the shimmer so I might look at something different, or look at their actinic fixture.

On a smaller tank I have a Reefbreeder Photon supplemented by a custom BML fixture on the front aimed back. Color is fantastic since I started dosing a little nitrate.

It can also take time. Mine was brown for months. Now a deep deep purple under hydra 52s. Heavy on blues half whites. All other channels on 50%

anybody know how to make fiji purple with leds? is it red and attinic? isn't red bad for reef tanks?

Fiji purple is NOT actinic. It's a true purple. Mixture of red and royal blue. If you look at the spectral plot it's got a nice bump in blue from 400-480 or so, and then a spike in the red range, giving it a pink/purple hue. Real actinic is focused in the 400-450 range. Violet =\= Purple
