Not sure if anyone is familiar with Gary from Reef_Pets but he is a local frag guy. He used to work with Austin Aqua Farms but now does his own thing in Cleveland and sells everything through Ebay. I bought a few frags from him months ago which was great because I was able to go pick them up no shipping charges. Any way every week his stuff keeps getting better this particular batch of auctions is crazy you gotta check them out:

Two of the nicest ones:

Neat looking frags, but the pictures look like their levels and color have been adjusted. Healthy otherwise, but I'm curious about what kind of light the pictures were taken under.

Not sure how an auction can be over priced. It already has over 10 bids and not done until Thursday
I have bought many pieces from him and they are always in good shape and we all know how much of a difference lighting can make.

All his auctions start at 99 cents..;)

This is from the ebay listing in regards to photos:

"All of our photos are taken under Radium 400 Watt 20K Metal Halides and ATI Actinic T5 bulbs. As most people know, different lighting will create different color contrasts on coral. For all photos we use a Canon XSi camera with a Canon 60mm macro lens. Keep in mind that a macro photo shows more detail than the naked eye. All of photos are true to color and accurate in our reef conditions."

Anyone that only sells off ebay & won't allow locals to see his setup or corals in person is hiding something.

I didn't say customers:D

I'm sure he can show a person around that's in for a tour, or a club associate, ect. to promote his business.

There could be a logical explanation..................but when I see pictures like that it makes me want to stay away.

I guess the best way to solve these concerns is for someone locally to nab these corals & take pics from their tank or allow someone to see the corals in person.

I'd love to be wrong

I have gotten 7 frags from him over the past few months. 3 acans 3 zoas and 1 mushroom frag. All frags were exactly what was pictured in the auction photo.

I am on R2R where he is a sponsor and someone asked about coming to see his setup. He said he is not allowed to have a retail shop due to his lease agreement and the zoning. Dont see how he would have anything to hide.

His sponsor thread on R2R is filled with satisfied customer and I have never heard one complaint about corals being photoshopped or not accurately represented by the photos.

Haha "clay-boa" 2 posts above? Thats not what I typed the forum changed my words. Feel like I am in Soviet Russia.

I don't want to belabor the point, but I think this can be all put to rest when someone actually buys those acros so others can see them in person. Or, reasonable photos by the buyer under normal lighting conditions of most display tanks.

Imo, those pictures are very misleading.

Does anyone have any insight on how much (if any) of his coral is farm raised and/or obtained from sustainable sources?

He used to be in Dayton Cincinnati area, and was same way that wouldn't allow people to see his operation. I think there's something he don't want anyone to see, notice none of his frags are encrusted, freshly glued. I have a feeling he's just got a chop shop going, get colonies in, chop up into frags and sell.
