so that was pretty fast. originally the 120 gallon i had was built for apartment. that being said, it just didn't feel right in the new house I had finally mortgaged. it was too small in a really big room. that being said it was time to upgrade. if you havn't seen the old build it's right here

Derek from miracles sent me the tank sent me a tank,
it measures 65x30x24, and the overflow is separate, so it would fit through the door. plumbing is going to be a 1.5" bean animal style external overflow.

I'm going to be installing a 45 gallon deep blue rimless frag tank to the display as well, which will be inline and part of my (semi) automatic water change system.

equipment list
Lighting: 3x250watt halide, 4x80watt t5, and 2 reefbright tech Royal blue strips
Bulbs: 20k radiums, true actinic, 460nm hamilton bulb.
Ballasts: m80 ballasts

circulation in tank: MP40
Skimmer: Sro 3000
Return Pump: external reeflo Dart (dart snapper hybrid)
Calcium reactor: don't know yet
Steralizer: UV sterilizer
media reactor: MR1
Sump: Custom sump 33x29x18
controller: apex
dosers: maybe

the build will also feature a back room where I can place all of the equipment. sump will still go under the tank though.

my wife hleping to clean up the silicone work! she does most of the painting as well if not ALL of it, including the boards we are working on for the tank, the wall, the back of the tank, you name it



this one is hard to see because of the lighting downstiars, but this is with the acrylic overflow cover installed and the the back of the tank painted black



this is as the tank sits now! we are almost done painting the inside pieces of the boards. we will also be hanging the light tonight.

Following along so hard!! lol You have the exact lighting setup I'm aiming for Cebu Sun with reefbrites :)
 
Looking good! I think I'm subscribed to your other thread that has some of the same pictures. This must be the new thread
 
Got some work done recently. Hung the head board to the studs in the ceiling so i can hang the fixture into them,

And got the boards hung on the stand and screwed them all on, abd puttied the screw holes. The tank's equipment will only be accessible from the sump room.

Right now my wife and i are deciding if we want to go with paint or a slate avenzo stone in the front







Ill be hanging the light fixture tomorrow and then probably move onto the sump next

Problem with the stone is that the floor is uneven and unlevel... So when i get to the floor with the stone you will see a gap all the way around....



Does anyone have any tips for this?

45 gallon frag tank, going to be a part of the water change system.




Ill be working on the sump next and the water change System, then on to the plumbing, then wiring, then rock and sand. THEN water and salt... Then cycling
 
This is going to be a stunning build! Well it already is :D

What did you end up doing about the uneven floor??
 
Very nice! Is that schist panel replica or the real deal? I've been looking to do the same but so hard to find anything but true schist in NZ.

Are you talking about the stone?

Its actually real slate dry stack stone
