1000 Gallon Build- Here we go- Lots of Pictures

Anyone know a resource in Scottsdale to get 800 gallons of RO DI delivered? It's going to take my system a few days to get that up and running.

Contact SpectraPure. They are in your neck of the woods and might know somebody with their filter systems that could provide you with water. It's a long shot but finding 0 TDS water in that kind of volume is going to be real tough and I wouldn't trust water from just anybody. Many people, stores in particular don't maintain the RODI systems and will sell you water and preach to you about how clean and perfect it is but it often won't be nearly as good as they suggest. As such, you might just be better off being patient and allowing your RODI system time to produce the water you need. At least that way you will be assured of the quality.
 
'Rent' a few RO/DIs from local reefers. I would lend you my 2 90 GPD units in exchange for a house tour if I was close! I know money isn't a big deal but it may even be faster than finding 800 gal of RO/DI delivered
 
Right now the plan is to let the RO DI fill it in. But I was trying to be a bit more efficient. I'll be patient. We have come this far.
 
I agree, but it would be pretty easy to hook an extra one up if a reefer had an extra in the area. That way you can give the salt enough time to really mix to eliminate the possibility of precipitates in the tank as much as possible.
 
I am a big fan of how bright the house is, it allows the eyes to be drawn to the dark cabinetry of the tank. I am excited to see how this develops especially with the sitting area between the kitchen and tank, great for entertaining.

I would have loved to see the Tesla when loaded up with all the rocks/equipment. It must have been riding low!

I've said it already, but your home is truly beautiful. Your tank is great as well and I can only imagine how great it is going to look.

I love the "red accents". Any home of this magnitude should have a theme, and a red accent theme is a very subtle, yet very contrasting endevour. You've done it well.
 
Just a quick update. Have started making water. I have a 165 gallon storage tank. Going to get another one tomorrow. With the two storage tanks, I should have about 300 gallons of water. The sump itself will hold another 200 gallons. This gives me about 500 gallons of water that I should be able to produce by Saturday through my ro system. We start aquscaping on Saturday, we will lay down the sand and then slowly start pumping water from the sump to the tank. As the tank fills up, we continue to "make water" and filling up storage tanks and sump. I think the tank should be filled up late Sunday to Monday with everything. Eventually the two storage tanks will turn into my water mixing system. Wish me luck. Fun part is about to start.

My schedule is crazy. Trying to borrow a ro system is going to be nuts. I'll just go slow. We also have an ro system in the house itself. Might try to tap into that to speed up the process.

Thanks a bunch. I too like the contrast of the tank to the rest of the house. All our other homes have been dark and heavy. We went the opposite end on this build.

It'll fill up faster than you think :)

Just remember to use floats or alarms, or you'll have some wet floors!

Hey Socal, if you don't want to make all that water you could contact Catalina Water. I'm not sure of the specifics but I know one of the other locals with a large system used them when he started his system up a few years ago. Heres a link to the water going in. Update on tank install- if it's not one thing it's another. Sand which was supposed to be delivered is on back order. It's not like I need 4 bags of sand- I need 40 and there isn't enough with the peeps who were going to do the install.

At this rate it's going to take me till 2018 to get the damn thing going!

Back to the drawing board. And to top it off I'm up to my ears in work.

On a brighter note- have figured out a great system for my water change system that I'll implement soon.
